A short note on what constitutes evidence.
To give any credence to the Wyatt stories he would need to provide specific identification of his mountain of interest, even something as simple as the exact latitude and longitude of the mountain. Otherwise he has no evidence. Anyone so limited that they can only spell a word one way is severely handicapped!

PaulK writes: quote: The "Biblical record" makes no mention of animal carvings. And there is not even one drawing of a "calf" which the Bible does mention on the rock in question.

The problem is that that is located on the Sinai Peninsula and so nowhere near the site Buz is marketing.

Yup, pretty common across the region and all of North Africa as well, far older than the 1200s BCE, no calves on the rock, the images Wyatt used were doctored (pre photoshop), mostly hunting and fertility symbols and also things like dogs, camels, phallic symbols, no sign of ever being used as an altar.
In all, no evidence in support of the Exodus at all. Anyone so limited that they can only spell a word one way is severely handicapped!

Percy, if you go to N 28.843 E 34.966 in Google Earth it will display the elevations at the bottom of the page. Just be careful as there are two elevations shown, one is the ground elevation, the other is 'eye' elevation, the height you are viewing it from.
AbE: But also note that it is not the highest in Saudi Arabia by a long shot, in fact it is tenth highest. See Message 600. Edited by jar, : add link back to table of heights. Anyone so limited that they can only spell a word one way is severely handicapped!

Buz, I am simply testing the claims you have made.
So far I see NO supportive evidence of an Exodus ever happening. The mountain you and Wyatt have picked out shows no signs of being burned, no blackened top, little to make it any different than any other. The rock does not have a single calf on it and no indication it was ever an altar. There is no evidence the rock is even near the mountain. And all you do is continue to make stuff up and stick it in the story. Anyone so limited that they can only spell a word one way is severely handicapped!

Let's see if a screenshot will help.
I simply opened Google Earth, went to the coordinates and it showed elevation as shown in teh screenshot. Looking in options I see you can switch between feet and meters but no way to turn elevation off, so should be there in your Google Earth. Buzsaw writes: Coragyps writes: Where did the Hebrews camp out for most of 40 years in the desert? That has been addressed in the thread. Most of their time was at Kadesh Barnea, i.e. Petra which has been occupied by pagan cultures since, erasing any signs of the Jews. Evidence of that Buz or is this just another of your totally unsupported assertions? Anyone so limited that they can only spell a word one way is severely handicapped!

If you actually think that there is any real evidence in there please pick what you think is the best example so we can examine it.

Except there is absolutely no evidence anything like that ever happened.
