What I don't get is how some people can claim dogs are better than cats when the theory that dogs are better than cats is just a theory and it's a self evident axiom that cats are better.
I really dispair at the level of knowledge on this forum sometimes.

Sorry to hear that, Moose. It's always hard when you loose a friend.
Best wishes, Larni

A lot of locations are outlawing declawing cats. What I see, is that declawing is a pretty humane procedure, and gives a lot of cats homes where having claws could be a problem. Outlawed in the UK. And a good thing too. It's barbaric: if one can't keep a cat don't mutilate one to fit yours needs.

We creationists tend to serve the interest of our owner, acknowledging and pleasing him, as he trains us. He protects us and provides our needs. You know that sounds horrible, don't you? To be as a dog is to a man, unto your god? Does he put you down if you are badly treated and bite him? Edited by Larni, : spellink

Teddy(M) (aka "The Weasel") That made me laugh, the kitty in my avatar (Smudge) looked like a ferret when he was about six months old. He had a growth spurt (length-wise) and looked just like a ferret when he stood up on his heels. Even now he has a habit of biting my arm with his incisors (never his canines) and hanging on (just like a weasel/ferret). He's such a good boy. Edited by Larni, : No reason given.

He should be called 'Fonzy'.

Both my cats have grown podgy by my mis reading the measuring chart.
Now I have to fend them both off at 4am in morning when they are walking back and forth over my head as I slumber demanding rxtra rations (I've put them on a diet). What's really galling is that before we got the pair we were plagued with mice and I had images of dashing cats slaying the vermin left, right and centre: not one mouse has shown it's face since the cats moved in. Gutted.

I did not know that hungry cats don't hunt: that seems counter intuitive. When we take them to my in laws and let them out (they are house cats as we live in a city) into the wilds they bring in bucket loads of voles, both alive and disembowled.
What is most sriking is that there have been no mice at all in our house since they arrived. I reckon the smell of urine from the litter tray keeps them away. This also means no toxoplasma ghondii in the area if the mice keep away. Edited by Larni, : clarity

Then a starving kitten found its way to our door. Gave him some food and a year later he is a big beautiful classic tabby. Good for you, PD. I'm glad he's having a good time chasing chipmunks (are they squirrel analogues?).

Smudge (my avatar) nearly died yesterday.
He had a blocked urethra with crystals forming at the end of his penis. Fortunately we got him to the Vets in time and he was operated on and seems to be okay now. I'm so very relieved.

Yeah, we got him on a diet and we are aware of the likely hood of future crystal build up.
We fed him on dry food but that's changed, now. His best mate (Fletcher) is also on a wet diet, even though she is less prone (larger urethra). Going to be vigilant for that splayed (full bladder gait) from now on.

What a colossal twat that man is: letting a cat get that fat is going to give it diabetes.

Same thing happens with my cats.
The female (Fletcher) will get as close as she can and purr very loudly while pawing my head and face. She is adept at unsheathing her middle claw and getting the boundary of my lip and skin (ouch). She also seems to be aware of the focus of my attention: she will block my line of sight to TV, PC or book until I feed her. The male (Smudge) will sit and stare. If this does not work he will walk over my head and face and sink his claws into my chest (if I'm laying down). All of this tends to happen at daybreak or dusk when they want feeding. The above ontological example models the zero premise to BB theory. It does so by applying the relative uniformity assumption that the alleged zero event eventually ontologically progressed from the compressed alleged sub-microscopic chaos to bloom/expand into all of the present observable order, more than it models the Biblical record evidence for the existence of Jehovah, the maximal Biblical god designer. Moreover that view is a blatantly anti-relativistic one. I'm rather inclined to think that space being relative to time and time relative to location should make such a naive hankering to pin-point an ultimate origin of anything, an aspiration that is not even wrong. Well, Larni, let's say I much better know what I don't want to say than how exactly say what I do.
