Hi, Slevesque.
I'm a recent convert to NHL hockey (as in, last year). Kentucky sits in the television markets of the Blue Jackets and the Predators, and pretty much every game for both teams is on TV. Since the NFL makes me wait a week between games, I started putting on hockey games to get my sports fix during the week.
I've kept up with Olympic hockey over the years, though, and I have always rooted for Sweden in international competitions (I have Swedish heritage). Incidentally, I also currently want Slovakia to fall off the face of the earth (but it'll pass eventually).

When I was growing up, we played that old Nintendo Ice Hockey game. For some reason, it had Poland, but not Finland. I grew up thinking Poland was good at hockey (which they kind of were in the 1970's, I guess).

Hi, Slevesque.
On your introductory thread (message #23), you said this:

But the Canadiens have the better looking logo, that's for sure.
I'll let the viewers decide:
Personally, I love the little "H" in the middle of the Canadiens' "C": it's funny to me that they had to add that "H" to clarify that the Canadiens are actually a hockey team.
Edited by Bluejay, : I'm not sure what happened, but the pictures didn't work until I repasted the exact same URL's.

I prefer to watch from home: it's cheaper, and, while I can scoop up my two-year-old and put him in timeout if he misbehaves, I cannot do so for a drunken, pyscho hockey fan.
And, I hate loud noises. And crowds.

By the way, the Predators have clinched a playoff spot!
Sure, it's nothing like Montreal's 24 Stanley Cups, but I'd like to see Nashville at least advance past the first round this year (it's a tough year to hope for that in the West, though: any of the top four would be a tough draw---I think I'd actually prefer the Canucks to the others, amazingly).
And, good luck to the Habs, too: they need two more wins and a Rangers loss to clinch.

The Habs made it to the second round!
The Predators are out, though. Even my second choice, the Coyotes, didn't make it. Or my third (Devils), either.
It's a good thing I'm not a betting man.
