Food for Noah's Ark survivors.

“Take with you seven of every kind of clean animal, a male and its mate, and two of every kind of unclean animal, a male and its mate, and also seven of every kind of bird, male and female” (Gen 7:2-3)

It struck me today as I was researching some verses concerning Noah's flood that I would like to ask of those that adhere to the validity of the flood lore an explanation of the problems presented by this verse.
