Re: Holocaust Deniers
First off, I've never heard of the expression holocaust denier. wtf is that? I guess it is just as it sounds, wierd.
That was not for you rrhain, but for the whole thread.
Let's not pretend that Christian fundamentalists are supportive of Israel because they like Jews. No, they're supportive of Israel because they need the Jews to die during Armageddon.
I don't like to categorize people as fundamentalists, but I don't think I have ever got that feeling from any Christian about the Jews.
If anything, I have felt that there is an obvious dislike about the Jews, that stems from fear, but their fear of God is greater, and come to realize through the bible, that the Jews are the chosen ones, regardless of how they feel personally, therefor respect Israel, and call it the homeland.
For me personally, I believe the whole situation is much greater than me, and have no real opinion. Especially since I have met Jews who act more Christian, than Christians. Breaking down the stereotypes.

Re: Holocaust Deniers
Sure, that's perfectly normal. There are many people who think messed up things. Just like the 9-11 conspiracy theories, and many more. I just never heard of this particular one. Sounds like an anti-semitic thing.
Hate and fear are probably the main thing behind it.

Re: Holocaust Deniers
You really need to get out a bit more. Maybe do some reading or watch some news.
I am sure if we probed you, we would find out that you have missed many obvious things in your own life. Unless you claim to know everything. I am betting you don't, and to criticize me, makes you a hypocrite. Open your mind a bit.

Re: Holocaust Deniers
Not that there's none out there...there might very well be. But then, of course, since (by definition) I would be unaware of it...I can't think of any
Apology accepted.

Re: Holocaust Deniers
These are things a person should know. I'm sure there are plenty other obvious facts. The point is you just don't go through life not knowing these things. It's weird.
First off your comparison to those great events is unfair. Second, it is not weird, it is relative. It is history, and not the kind of history I ever paid attention to, or was interested in. I do regret that a bit now, as I am interested in it now, but do not have the time to start getting into it.
I am more of a technical person, knowing my history of trains, planes, cars, boats and the such. I could ask you some obvious questions about those, and you may have never heard of it, even though it was highly publicized. I could tell you the first plane used in WW2, and the last, without looking it up. Ask me about some political group, or some dumbass people who deny the holocaust, I could give two craps about. Once again you display your ignorance, and you only see things to the relative world around you. To say I am weird is very wrong of you, and insulting.

Re: Holocaust Deniers
Do you agree or not agree that a person should go through life and heard the term "holocaust denier" at least once in his life?
No, I do not. It is so outlandish to me, that if I ever did hear it, it would have stuck.
But to not know of the existence of holocaust deniers or to not know the existence of planes in WW2 is not forgivable.
I don't see how you compare those two, or quantify that statement.
But to go through life not knowing they ever existed is willful ignorance at the very worst level, let alone the ultimate insult to the millions of victims of the holocaust.
Willful ignorance? Having never heard a term?
Ultimate insult? WTF are you trying to say? Just come out and say it.
I never heard of it, and now that I have, as I have stated several times already, I find it incredibly stupid, and almost not worthy of me even paying any attention to it. Yes, it is a great insult to those who suffered, but I am not the one doing the insulting, or should you be putting that blame on me.
I was going to say in my last post that your ignorance on this is the root of your prejudice, but I refrained. Now it is clear that it is the root of your prejudice. Not only can't you understand how people can live their lives not knowing everything, (maybe because you think you know everything yourself) you then start to hate people for it, then call them names on it. What's next? I am a anti-semitic because I never heard the term holocaust denier?
Regarding WW2, I can tell you a few things about Operation Overlord, Operation Barbarosa, etc.
Who gives a shit, and what does that have to do with what I said about it? Those are not well publicized events.
But if you go through life not ever knowing that D-Day ever happened or there was such a thing as the Berlin Wall, why on Earth are you here talking to us?
Where do you come up with this stuff? Why am I talking to you?

Re: An apology
Let's just say I am a holocaust denier, denier, and leave it at that.
But seriously, if I did hear of it, I must have forgot, but I don't see how, as I find it very repulsive, and insulting to the Jews. Something like that would have stood out in my mind. Those turds do not even deserve the time of day IMO.
The only thing I ask is that you be open minded enough to understand there is a possibility that I never heard of it. I mean it's all in what you pay attention to, and where you gear your interests.
