Asgara's latest incarnation is a 38 priest on Steamweedle Cartel.
Cool. I have a few lowbie alts on Steamwheedle; I've been trying to get my parents to play the game so I rolled some characters to get them started. As theatre folk I figured that the language of roleplaying (prithee, whither wandrest thou, wastrel?) would be a lot less confusing than the language of 14-year-olds (ZOMG! WTFBBQPWND! ROTFLCOPTER!)
I personally have never played opposite gender alts, but know many who do. Most that I know do it because female characters get treated better by the masses of young boys playing.
Does that work? I play almost exclusively female characters in basically every computer RPG I've ever played, mostly because I don't identify with the linebacker physiques and lumbering animations of your typical fantasy male.
I've never noticed any special treatment, though; I don't imagine I
act particularly female (I don't even know what that would mean in context) so maybe I'm missing something. Certainly
I can't remember any instance where I've done something unusual for someone simply because they had a female character.
For those of you who are 60 and not raiding - it's hella fun, and not just because of the drops. Raiding bosses are
hard, it's not just a tank-n-spank, and getting 40 people to enact a complex strategy is an entirely different game in and of itself. There's nothing else like it in the game, trust me. The epic loot is just the icing on the cake. If you're 60 and you're not raiding your missing out on a lot of fun. But it can take a very long while to find a guild you can work with.
