I know Asgara is playing it, because she's got a picture of her mage(?) as her admin avatar. So, come on nerds, holla back with your race, class, and server. (Twist, 60 night elf Rogue, Mug'Thol server. "Serious Business" guild.) Also, playing characters of opposite gender - harmless affectation, opportunity for transsexual experimentation, or winning strategy? Discuss.

Riken, Male 60 NE Rogue, Cenerion Circle Neila, Female 54 Undead Priest, Scarlet Crusade The only reason I picked a chick for my ALT is that I didn't like any of the undead male avatars. I certainly don't act like one in game. =) I think the minority of opposite gender play is NOT for any kind of sexual role experimentation. Certainly I do know some who pick the female avatars for the tendency of r'tards who cannot seperate fantasy from reality have of sucking up to female avatars. There is a guy in our guild who plays a female warrior. HE started her as a dare, so he says, and just ended up liking the play so much that he kept her rather than re-rolling.

Zebulon, Male Level 60 Tauren Shammy Dethecus Alts: various races/classes all around lvl 35 on Dethecus and other servers. I got really really bored with WoW, hence all the Alts. I don't join guilds because i don't see the fun in running a high level instance over and over and over again hoping to get an elite drop. I'll pick it up again when the expansion comes out. Playing characters of opposite gender:harmless affectation, though not one i engage in.
Just a monkey in a long line of kings. If "elitist" just means "not the dumbest motherfucker in the room", I'll be an elitist! *not an actual doctor

Asgara's latest incarnation is a 38 priest on Steamweedle Cartel. I am priest commander of Guardians of the Realm. We are more of a social/light role play guild than an instance running elite group. I personally have never played opposite gender alts, but know many who do. Most that I know do it because female characters get treated better by the masses of young boys playing. Its a winning strategy for them. Feel free to read about my "wedding" last month http://guardiansoftherealm.guildportal.com/Blog.aspx?Blog... I have a few lower level alts, a new troll hunter named Asclypsa, and a level 18 gnome warlock named Asgaillie. There is a human mage named Asthaya, but she is currently unplayed at level 5, waiting for my "hubby" to start a pally to play with her. (posting in admin form to show off the avatar )

I'm sorry. I stick with more sophisticated games, like Civ4. or diablo II. actually, I've never played WoW, but from what I've seen (and heard) it's a pretty good game. Good and big enough, at least, for south partk to rip on it.

Asgara's latest incarnation is a 38 priest on Steamweedle Cartel. Cool. I have a few lowbie alts on Steamwheedle; I've been trying to get my parents to play the game so I rolled some characters to get them started. As theatre folk I figured that the language of roleplaying (prithee, whither wandrest thou, wastrel?) would be a lot less confusing than the language of 14-year-olds (ZOMG! WTFBBQPWND! ROTFLCOPTER!)
I personally have never played opposite gender alts, but know many who do. Most that I know do it because female characters get treated better by the masses of young boys playing. Does that work? I play almost exclusively female characters in basically every computer RPG I've ever played, mostly because I don't identify with the linebacker physiques and lumbering animations of your typical fantasy male. I've never noticed any special treatment, though; I don't imagine I act particularly female (I don't even know what that would mean in context) so maybe I'm missing something. Certainly I can't remember any instance where I've done something unusual for someone simply because they had a female character. For those of you who are 60 and not raiding - it's hella fun, and not just because of the drops. Raiding bosses are hard, it's not just a tank-n-spank, and getting 40 people to enact a complex strategy is an entirely different game in and of itself. There's nothing else like it in the game, trust me. The epic loot is just the icing on the cake. If you're 60 and you're not raiding your missing out on a lot of fun. But it can take a very long while to find a guild you can work with.
