Testing - This should be larger text
Testing - This should be larger text in a shaded quote box Testing - This also should be larger text in a shaded quote box OK - The "size" code doesn't work if it's outside of the "qs" code. Adminnemooseus Added by edit: This is a test like the third example above, only using HTML instead of dBCode OK - That doesn't work either. The edit time stamp is created for the time settings your preferences. Once that text is created, it does not change (short of by edit).
Thus the time stamp of edits is useful only in a general way. You may see someones brand new edit, and it may have a time vastly different than the time per your preferences settings. That's the way it is. Maybe the edit time stamps should always be in GMT or EST for everyone, and not in the editors time preference setting. Adminnemooseus

At the What is a "Real Conservative"? - The American Conservative magazine topic, the italics in the title were being displayed correctly (as above) at the various locations. Now they are not, at least for me.

See http://EvC Forum: OK, testing new thread -->EvC Forum: OK, testing new thread
AdminRandman started the topic, then by edit changed the message 1 ID to randman (non-admin mode). On the "Alltopic" index page, the topic originator persists as being AdminRandman. Maybe some sort of manually triggered thread rebuild is required to fix this? Adminnemooseus

Admin has commented at the topic in question.
It is certainly less critical in a "Practice Makes Perfect" topic, but such can and probably has happened in other forums. Adminnemooseus

Doing a search by member ID seems to often work fine, but sometimes you get zero returns for members who have posted many times. This may be the case of members who have been inactive for quite a while. Example: Search for "Bill Birkeland"
I, however, have just failed to get any returns for a recently active member - "JimBobCarl". Adminnemooseus

When doing an ID search, I usually use the "search for exact name" option and "search all open forums" and "search by messages" and leave the "search words" field blank.
Despite what NWR says above, I now still can't get any returns for either "Bill Birkeland" or "JimBobCarl". A partial name search for "Birkeland" also yields no results. An exact name search for "Bill Birkeland" in the "Geology and the Great Flood" forum yields no results. Adminnemooseus Added by edit:
I'm hopeful that a release can happen around New Year's. Oh boy - Fresh bugs! This message has been edited by Adminnemooseus, 12-23-2005 01:43 PM

I have never seen this. Links to examples?
Adminnemooseus ps to Percy: I think I've mentioned this before, but here it is again - Re: Board code in titles/subtitles - Sometimes it works, at least for a while, but then later it doesn't work. Example is the use of italics (http://EvC Forum: Archaeopteryx reborn .... again? -->EvC Forum: Archaeopteryx reborn .... again?).

Unless Percy just got a strange bit of perverse humor in him, I can't imagine the changing of Haekel to ****** and such to be a result of his efforts.
Did I get that word spelled correctly (lekeaH backwards) Let's see what previews and posts. OK - Misspelling or otherwise, it didn't disappear in preview. Looked it up - Let's try ******* (lekceaH backwards). OK the asterisks show up in preview. In the other messages (per link), they also showed up in the raw text (Peek Mode). Adminnemooseus

Rebuild didn't seem to get rid of the *'s upthread. Are they permanent now? So it seems.
Adminnemooseus Added by edit: It seems that the *'s are permanent, but the "pre-censorship" topics were not effected (or is that affected?). See Why are Haeckel's drawings being taught in school?. This message has been edited by Adminnemooseus, 12-24-2005 02:34 PM

I just did an edit to a messenjah of one message here.
When I did a preview, the edit attribute was to messenjah. When actually posted, however, the attribute was correctly to Adminnemooseus. Also note at that topic: The topic title is not breaking to continue on a second line. Instead it goes off-screen to the right, and requires scrolling to read. Adminnemooseus

The content of my signature is coded to be in font size=1. It is no longer displaying as such. Older (pre 2.0) versions of the same signature (such as here) also seem to be no longer displaying in font size=1.
See also here for the minnemooseus version of the problem. Adminnemooseus Added by edit: I think the " Warning: Because we require email verification, if you change your email address, a new password will be created for you and emailed to the new email address. Do not change your email address unless you can retrieve email from it to get your new password" notice at the profile edit page should be made more prominent (color, font, or font size change?). Admin writes: This is amazing - the code to produce the signature in this way no longer exists. Can you do this consistently? It's as if you have an old version of the software cached on your system. I don't really understand what you're asking with the "Can you do this consistently?". All I know, is that both the admin mode and non-admin mode signatures contain dBoard code for size=1 font text, and it used to always work fine. Now it does not. The following is the result of a copy/paste from my "Update Profile" page (see "peek" for raw text):

Forum Guidelines, Style Guides for EvC, Assistance w/ Forum Formatting, Proposed New (Great Debate) Topics, Official Invitations to Online Chat@EvC I have been using this for quite a while, and my "signature" has always previously been displayed in the size=1 sized font. The really odd thing is, the older messages that once had the size=1 "signature" are no longer size=1. I was very much under the impression that the signature, as formatted, became part of the perminent HTML text, and would not change unless a message edit was done. If a message edit was done, then any newer version of the "signature" would be displayed. I know this, because I once did an "Update Profile" to change my signature to include the current version of the "General discussion of moderation procedures" topic. I then did an edit to an existing message, and the signature was updated to include the new "General..." link. I don't recall if I had to do something like turning the "signature" off and then back on to get this result, or if just doing and edit and submit resulted in the change. The end "signature" is the result of checking the "Show Signature" box. Adminnemooseus Added by edit: I earlier checked one of my old minnemooseus messages, to see what the "signature" was. It was still the old signature, which was considerably different from the current minnemooseus "signature". So, it doesn't seem that all past signatures were updated to be the current signatures. Unless it's just that such an update happens when a new message is posted to the topic. We track down an old minnemoosues "signature" and test such by adding a new message. Edited by Adminnemooseus, : Fixed typo. Edited by Adminnemooseus, : Content added as noted above. Edited by Admin, : No reason given.
