A rather common argument of Creationists against Evolution is not based on a claim that Evolution is factually wrong but rather on morals. They claim that Evolution can be used to justified things like ethnic cleansing. Most of them point to Nazi Germany as an example.
I argue that faith in the bible and god can and has been used in just the same way. Examples are the Crusades and the Inquisition. In fact, I claim that using simple logic the basic tenets of Christianity lead to moral dilemmas.
For example : I have a friend who is a devout Christian and I believe that he will be going to Heavon when he dies. However, I have reason to fear that he falling into bad company and that he might in fact renounce his faith in a year or so. Should I not kill him so that his soul might be saved?
The point I am trying to do that the moral argument against Evolution makes no sense, since history shows that every religion has led to various attrocities. Moreover, the basic tenets of religion can in fact be used logically to justify them.
I think this should go to Social Issues.

Hi EP, welcome to EvC.
I'm not sure just what you are going for here. Initially you bring up TOE and morality but the examples concern theism vs. atheism. Maybe you could clarify for me?

What I am going for is the following is that Creationists have to admit that when the Christian Faith is twisted it can be used to justify deeds which everyone here (I hope so at least) regards as wrong. I want them to admit this point, since it is one they often make about ToE. That it can be used justify racial cleansing etc...

Does Belief lead to unacceptable morals?
Hi, EPeter...can we tune up the question more to a specific direction?
For example, is it a Faith/Belief question?
Is it a science question? (concerning morality as an impartation or a behavoristic trait)
Be more specific and rework the opening statement as to where you want to go with this.

Re: Does Belief lead to unacceptable morals?
Lets reword the Title and focus on a specific direction.
You said to me that this was a social issue.
Thus, we have:
1)Education and Creation/Evolution
2) Social Issues and Creation/EvolutionAha! I think we found your forum if you reword this right.
