Please for the sake of love if you are going to reply to this message fully read it and do not just skim it.
For the past numerous days I have been interested in the arguments happening between creationist (Christian)scientists and the evolutionists(or like)scientists, and I have seen a slinging of knowledge back and forth, both having findings of there own merit upon the logic that each contains.
My heart became a bit weighty seeing this, the close mindedness of our humanity because what is it that we truly seek to find? I for one do not believe it to be within the confines of these arguments.
This is the proof that I will lay down for my belief, Love now to fully appreciate this we need not look to the English word for love but going into history specifically into Koine Greek, there are four words that describe love, the first I will describe is Eros, now this word does not appear in any new testament book but it does appear in the Septuagint (the Early Greek translations of the Old testament) specifically in the book of the Song of Solomon, the word Eros is love that is shared between two lovers or physical love.
The Second word for love is Storge, which is family love (it can also be added to the next word of love to make philostorgos whish is in Romans 12:10.. devoted to one another in brotherly love).
The Third being Philia that speaks of warmhearted, spontaneous affection, liking, attractive appeal, and friendship.
The Fourth being the love of choice Agape, this is the only love that we as humankind are commanded to have by God.. now let me give you the meaning right from scriptures itself.. the famous love chapter 1 Corinthians 13:4 to 8 Love is patient; love is kind; love is not envious or boastful or arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice in wrongdoing, but rejoices in the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends.
I must say that this last form of love is amazing especially the more I meditate upon its meaning. And with it I will tell you that I do not need to put any proof of our Creator out to you because it has been proved within me.. in that same chapter of love Paul says And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, , and if I have all faith so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. Now I will not be your judge but I will let the above definition of Agape be your judge, how do you measure up in it? 1 John 4:8.
Stay with me a moment longer..
Now I want to speak about what is true and compare this with religion.. I will lead you all to one verse in the scripture James 1:27 Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to care for orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.
If you want to argue truth than argue against God, cause just as the battle against David and Goliath was not Davids battle, it was Gods. With having said that I will close.
God bless you all.
Lyle

Yes, very nice.
Erm... this is the evolution/creationism forum. You will find that many mainstream scientists share your internal "proof" of the Creator. I don't quite see how your sermonette really relates to the matter of our discussion, which is about science, not theology.

I wrote this to lay down the grounds to my belief... after all I believe that what we are truelly after is truth, I do not see what I said as being Theology but rather that of truth... Love knows no bounds..
and logic is a science.

Man Know Thyself:
I have selected key elements of your sermonette to demonstrate its theological flavor.

Loma Linda
So, you're from Loma Linda? Obviously you believe in evolution. Are you SDA? If you are, all the better. Can't wait to see you in the afterlife. Oh, yeah, I forgot. Don't think I'll be seeing you often-the heat down there is too oppressive.

It's really too bad that Nimlore has left this board, as he was the one who suggested that I come to this forum and join the discussions going on here.
I wish you all had met this young man before he came to know the Lord, so that you could see the difference that God has made on his life. He is a walking testimony to the power of the Lord Jesus Christ, a 'proof of God's existance.
I hope that he feels ready to return to this board soon, as he has spent the time since he left this board to thoroughly research his own creation beliefs.

Would you accept this same logic for people whos lives have been changed (in a similar way) after conversion to Islam, Buddism or any other religion? How about deconvertion from a religion to atheism?
To be consistant you would have to, which would mean we then have proof that all gods are real and the no gods are real.

Aha but, I feel no need to be consistent. That's something only you scientific types are boxed in by.

Then why bother trying to justify your belief with proof? Also, why should anyone bother replying to your posts if you aren't going to bother with logic at all?
Edited to fix spelling.

The nature of your reply removes any room for discussion since your statement is purely dogmatic and unprovable and yet at the same time impossible to disprove. I see this as further evidence that we can believe whatever we like. Whatever belief appeals to you the most, in your case christianity.

it was a very nice bit of writing , however you'll probably be attacked by the same old , 'wheres your proof , arguements from the usual evo fans, however your faith is better than their fruitless attacks
let no fool convince you that their is no God as they are for sure faithless!!!

If someone strolls out in public and starts telling people what to believe, why do you see it as an attack if the response is, "why should I believe that?"

People with no faith in God are not necessarily faithless. Their faith is simply not directed where you would like it to be.

however what they lack is faith in God!!!
'why do you see it as an attack if the response is, "why should I believe that?"'
yes but for some reason evos think we should know every silly little question and if we dont know we are wrong , which is not true , non believers are always looking for evidence but it is clearly stated in the new testament that whoever believes is saved , this is why i think you should believe , i know its a cynical world but i do want people to believe for their own sakes believe it or not.
