If all Albert is looking for is an example of a code creature species hiding from a predator or otherwise protecting itself from selection pressures by evolving camouflage, then this should be easy. This happens in ALife all the time.
Was it in Tierra where they changed the parameters so that larger programs would get a proportionally larger amount of processor time dedicated to them, only to find that the 'organisms' mutated in a way to fool the size alogirithm into thinking they were larger than they were thus getting a disproportionally large amount of processor time?
