I'd just like to echo what Percy said - here's an example for you to chew on. Most internet forums are like learning to box on the street, sure you can pull off a few flash tricks but you just don't get the basics.Here at the EVCgym, you get to be worked over by number of professionals! (happened to me a number of times) In the process you get to pick up both the basics and the ability to hold your own in a debate.

How about a new title for thissomething like:"Limits on the Where the Urey-Miller Experiment Should be Applied"Which is what we have gotten to I think. To summarize:1) It has nothing to do with evolution.
2) It is probably not applicable to the actual early Earth environment.
3) It doesn't show how early life arose.
4) If does show that the very basic building blocks of life can arise rather easily in some conditions.

Ok, sure, I agree to that, that it was still presented in textbooks wrongly was supposed to be the topic of this discussion.ADMIN: if you could change the topic to what nosey ned said, I would be greatfull

If a title change is done, I think the original title needs to be preserved as an addition - (was "The lies behind the Miller experiment").But I'm more inclined to think the title should remain unchanged. The essential point of the topic seems to have been resolved. Various members can add their concluding remarks (if they haven't allready), and then this topic should be closed down.I may be wrong. Normally I would post "Pick a topic from the list of links below, if you wish to debate the matter". But maybe in this case, the "what to do with this topic" should be debated right here.Adminnemooseus

Moose notes reasons for not.It was your topic originally, I'll leave it to you to pick what to do. It does seem to be tidied up nicely, which we don't always do with topics to say the least.

Since we are well over two hundred posts already can I suggest that this thread be closed and JF start a new thread related to the Miller-Urey expiriment and its meaning.

Although I have only skimmed through this thread, I'm just amazed that it took over 200 posts for us to come to the conclusion that the Miller-Urey experiment was never used to support the theory of evolution.
