IF we can find evidence of israelites in Egpyt during a certain time period and no evidence of them during a following time period then common sense would tell us that they were all killed and that none of them got away in a fantasical exodus.
Except they turned up in Israel Right after that. Thats common knowledge.

Re: Doubting Lam
Actually, that's not common knowledge. In fact, the Armana letters which were written about 200 years after the Biblical date for the Exodus show no signs that they are present.

I don't know what the Armana letters may or may not say about Israel, but it is common knowledge that they were there not long after they left Egypt. http://dannyreviews.com/..._and_Israel_in_Ancient_Times.html

Is this common knowledge from the bible?
If you don't know what the letters say you might want to read them before you discard them.

Despite what you may have heard, so far there has been no evidence found that there were Hebrews in Egypt at the time the Exodus supposedly happened, or that they were in the area they supposedly conquered at the time the Bible places the stories of Joshua. This is not for lack of folk looking, it's just that the evidence found so far simply does not support either the Exodus as described or the conquest of Canaan.
Here is a link to the Armana letters. When you read them you'll find that there is no sign of a general invasion or anything like a major conquest in progress. Instead, what you find is intercity rivalries, conflicts among the kings of the city-states, and some general disorder.
The issue of the Exodus and the conquest of Canaan is very much an open question. There are several possibilities, but none resemble the tale as told in the Bible.
