Bump.
You Christian fundies are the worst debaters I have ever seen. You blabber on and on on how much "proof" you have of the existence of Jesus and then you avoid completely my very very simple question...request. Please give me some proof or evidence of Jesus, please!

Before i can reply i need to know what you mean exactly. Are you simply looking for proof of his existence?.

I'm a native in the deep jungles of the Congo. You want to convert me. Before I give all my gods and my traditions, I need to at least hear some convincing scientific, non-personal, objective evidence or proof (if you want to call it). No, reading out of a book is not convincing.

It is an interesting question, and unfortunately I don't have valid proof.
But my answer to the question, (say if I just had to convince them to save my life,) is that I would invoke fear of the unknown as proof. I would cite thunder and lightning and sickness and insect swarms as an upset God. They'd better toe the line if they want to stay alive and well.
I'm guessing this is where the need for religion stems - fear of the unknown.

I forgot to mention the fact that I've been to Congo University and got a Ph.D. in biology and a Ph.D. in Physics. I am currently working on my Ph.D. in Philosophy. So, no. Insect swarms and sickness do not scare me. I know what causes them.

When you provide a sugar rich environment to yeast, they create alcohol. What better evidence is there?

Well young man i believe our belief is true because our saviour rose from the dead and appeared to many many people. While Muhammad died on June8,632 and remained dead. Also Muhammad copied alot from our book the Bible, "well in our version Jesus did this and wasnt this etc". So Islam seems to be a copycat. (Im speaking to a congonese man BTW). Also Muhammad did no miracles and therefore had no divine evidence of his claims. Also has incited rebellion in many believers. His only claims came from his writings in the Quran. Confucius died 479bc and remained dead. Many of his writings were simply philosophical. Joseph Smith of the Mormons is a deciever who abused the trust of his followers. Claimed to be godlike yet produced no evidence. You might not understand what i mean next but it is strong evidence against this Mormons claims. The historicity of the Book of Mormon has been flatly denied by representitives of the Smithsonian Instituttion, and the 'Book of Abraham' in Pearl Of Great Price was proven fraudulent by a Mormon expert in Egyptology. The failed prophecies have also cause problems for the church. Mr Smith died in 1844, and remained dead.
Charles Russel of Jehovas Witness died in 1916 and remained dead. He was not able to establish a credible reputation with people outside the Watchtower Society. And record shows he decieved people and misused their goodwill for his own benefit. A failure of prophecies is also a problem for Jehovas Witness. Many included Jesus 'invisible' second coming in 1874, and the end of the world in 1914. The list goes on. So we can see that when we start breaking down many religions we can see how many can be dismissed with not just what i have said but with much much more diligent study of each belief. Anyway if you are still interested in a continuance of world religions and what they teach please dont hesitate to ask!.

Also Muhammad did no miracles and therefore had no divine evidence of his claims.
Uh, how about the fact that Mohammad, being a practical illiterate, composed and wrote the standard for modern Arabic language and grammar in what is often recognized as some of the greatest Arabic prose of all time with the assistance of an Angel?
Would that count as a miracle?

almeyda,
Well young man i believe our belief is true because our saviour rose from the dead and appeared to many many people.
So a person we have no idea existed, appeared to a load of other people we have no idea existed?
You are simply repeating your belief, not presenting evidence.
Mark

In the last 25 years, Elvis has appeared to many people too. What does that make him?
And incidentally, we only have the word of the evangelists that many people have seen Jesus. Unlike Elvis sightings, no firsthand records exist of it.

For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace. 1 Cor.14:33

Says who?
Also Muhammad copied alot from our book the Bible, "well in our version Jesus did this and wasnt this etc". So Islam seems to be a copycat. (Im speaking to a congonese man BTW).
Speaking as a double going on to triple doctorate graduate, I need more than simple assertions and accusation of plagarism.
Also Muhammad did no miracles and therefore had no divine evidence of his claims. Also has incited rebellion in many believers. His only claims came from his writings in the Quran.
Um... you could say the same thing about Jesus. At least what's written in the Koran was written during Muhammad's time. The first book of the new testament was written at least 40 years after Jesus's death by someone that never met Jesus. Being a christian, you should have already known this little known fact.
Confucius died 479bc and remained dead. Many of his writings were simply philosophical.
So? For the record, confucius never claimed to be the son of god. He claimed to be a philosopher. It's like saying Einstein died and remained dead... many of his writings were simply scientific...
Joseph Smith of the Mormons is a deciever who abused the trust of his followers. Claimed to be godlike yet produced no evidence. The failed prophecies have also cause problems for the church. Mr Smith died in 1844, and remained dead.
At least Smith left behind more evidence of his existence than Jesus.
How does comparing what your religious beliefs with others "prove" your validity over others and the existence of Jesus? You are assuming that at least one religion must be right, therefore by proving the others to be false, you prove your religion by the method of elimination. I'm sorry, but it doesn't work that way.
Have you more to say?
