If truth is based on religion, it becomes anchored to absolute (or nearly so) values.
There are no absolute values. If truth is based on religion, it becomes anchored to the relative values of a few, instead of the relative values of as many people as possible.

Re: Belarus & religion
What are you talking about? There was religious oppression in Belarus until the tyrant took over.
But to he/she who claims president bush would go over, I join saying..
"Well, the dictator of Belarus is in hiding.
in other words, He's playing peekaboo."

I was asking for support for your assertion that "There was religious oppression in Belarus until the tyrant took over." but I agree, when your whole post is considered it is difficult to make any sense out of it. So, for now let's stick to just the evidence for religious persecution in Belarus today.

Re: Belarus & religion
Help Ola do what? What evidence is there that Christianity is being oppressed in Belarus?

Re: Belarus & religion
NOt Christianity, jARJAR, but I'm talking about the new political wave that is currently sweeping Belarusian government! The Orange Revolution is under way. There is nothing we can do as individuals - let us fight the revolution to desttoy rule & liberty for all humankind - in Belarus, Specter.

I still don't have a clue what it is you are asking folk to do or what anyone should be concerned about.
In the message that started this side conversation, Message 199 you asked:
Hey... have any of you forumnists (especially columnists) heard of the oppresion of religious and political freedom in Belarus? My "friend", Ola, lives there currently, and all the commoners are awaiting the upcomng Orange Revolution, but as for now Christianity is supressed and political choice is repressed.
Anyone who cares at all about the withdrawal of religious freedom in Belarus may answer me at any time.
You claim Christianity is being repressed and religious freedoms withdrawn.
I've asked several times what your evidence is in support of that assertion.
So far, you've provided none.
Now you've expanded that to claim "let us fight the revolution to desttoy{sic} rule & liberty for all humankind'.
What evidence is there that an attempt is being made to "destroy rule and liberty"?
