Re: Personal Privacy vs Public Shaming

Biden has as many skeletons and documents in his closet as Trump did. Why must the media protect one and not the other?
Biden discovered the documents and immediately handed them over. Biden didn't intentionally steal the documents from the government, nor did Biden lie about having them.
Trump purposefully stole the documents from the government, only returned some of them after being pressured by government agencies for more than a year, and lied about having more of the documents in his possession. They were in his freaking desk, for crying out loud.
That's the difference.

Re: Conersations With Ted (Cruz)
Phat writes:
Ted Cruz recently took on your beloved AOC and showed the other side of the border argument that she glosses over.
Would that be Ted Cruz, son of Rafael Cruz? Would this be the Rafael Cruz who immigrated from Cuba by attaining political asylum in the US?

It is if it runs over the US middle class.
If you think inflation is bad now, try manufacturing all of our goods in the US.

But we cant expect the US middle class to pay the global bill.
They aren't, and no one is asking them to.

To pay by stopping coal burning and polluting as if they were the early United States x 2
Your use of words are completely backwards.
What good does it do us to pay out the nose to go green when other major countries still burn coal and pollute?
It's called "being an example for others to follow". It's called "doing our part".
It's also worth mentioning that China leads the world in green energy production.

Today, China is a veritable green power. It leads the world in renewable energy production figures and is the world’s largest producer of wind and solar energy, as well as the largest domestic and outbound investor in renewable energy.

Added in edt:
It is also worth mentioning that America release twice as much carbon per capita as China does.

Because its not the job of Americas working/middle class to pay this whole expense of going green.
It's the job of all Americans.
Many working people cant afford an electric car.
There are electric cars that are the same price as ICE cars.
Besides, our government has no right to be so Draconian Authoritarian on the insistence that we *all* switch.
You still don't understand what authoritarian means.
This issue will end up biting Biden in the Butt come election time.
Last I checked, Biden has never made electric cars mandatory.
The government is not in the mandatory morality business.
Then what the fuck do you think laws are??????
You dont speak for Jesus since you don't even think He exists. Your feeble attempt at secularizing "Christian" morality is going to fail.
You don't have to believe in Jesus in order to see how far short Christians fall of the commandments given by the New Testament.

Hence why we have such political division in this country. Neither side approves of the laws suggested by the other side.
Disagreeing with a law does not make it authoritarian. What we are seeing is more than disapproval. It is a lack of honesty about what the laws are, what authoritarianism is, and what laws people are proposing.

Re: Authoritarianism:What Phat Means
Phat writes:
Do you know of a more accurate definition? I'd like to see it.
quote:
authoritarianism, principle of blind submission to authority, as opposed to individual freedom of thought and action. In government, authoritarianism denotes any political system that concentrates power in the hands of a leader or a small elite that is not constitutionally responsible to the body of the people. Authoritarian leaders often exercise power arbitrarily and without regard to existing bodies of law, and they usually cannot be replaced by citizens choosing freely among various competitors in elections. The freedom to create opposition political parties or other alternative political groupings with which to compete for power with the ruling group is either limited or nonexistent in authoritarian regimes.
