Re: Burning The Candle At Both Ends
Paulk, I told everyone that the book has both Biblical and
Historical proof. And, lots of it.
If you don't want to check it out, don't. If your library does
not have it, they can borrow it from another library for
you. But, you will only be allowed to keep it for two weeks
no renewals.
Two week is nowhere nearly enough time to fully grasp
and verify the book's content.
I don't believe that any proof would convince you. You
have determined that you are going to believe a certain
way, regardless of what you experience.
I feel sorry for you. I really do. I know for certain that
you have a major awakening coming.
My best advice is to cause no one else to stumble.
College professors do this often. To cause someone
to stumble and fall away from God could have
serious consequences.
Paul states in Romans 1 that those professing
themselves to be wise (worldly standard) become
fools.
If I thought that it would do you good, I would show
you more proof, but your mind is made up.
Dredge believes strongly in God. I am trying to help him.
I am not looking for gotcha points.

You have to choose - whose words will you follow Paul's or Jesus' own?
It's a commandment from Jesus, your god. Best get it right eh?

And yet you don’t offer any evidence at all for any of the three claims. Probably because you know how laughable this “proof” is,

I don't believe that any proof would convince you. You
have determined that you are going to believe a certain
way, regardless of what you experience.
Of course that isn’t true of me, but it’s exactly what you’re doing here isn’t it?

You mean like espousing ridiculous nonsense and trying to blame God for it?

If I thought that it would do you good, I would show
you more proof, but your mind is made up.
Since you haven’t shown any proof - or even evidence - for any of the three claims then I guess that means that you don’t have any.

You dont know how to "get it right" - your understanding of Christianity is infantile.

No, dum-dum - you don't have to choose. The words of Paul are the words of Christ ... Christianity 101.

Jesus is commanding YOU to love others. No exceptions for race, religion, gender or proclivities. Even your enemy.
How do you reconcile Jesus' commandment to love others - regardless of their "proclivities" - with Matt 18:15-17 (see below), where Jesus instructs his followers to expel (excommunicate) unrepentant sinners from the Church?
"If your brother sins, go and show him his fault in private; if he listens to you, you have won your brother.
But if he does not listen to you, take one or two more with you, so that by the mouth of two or three witnesses every fact may be confirmed.
If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector."
(Matt 18:15-17)

Re: Burning The Candle At Both Ends
So you have Jesus Christ himself - a god - in his own words commanding you to love everybody even your enemies, and you have a guy called Paul who never even met Jesus, giving you a few exceptions to this commandment years later.
And you choose to ignore the love commandment and choose the hate message instead.
Interesting gamble. Good luck with it.

A very old and tired defence of the ignorant prejudiced, but if you're confident that your Lord and Saviour, can look into your mind and see nothing of hatred for the “queers” that you wish to “weed out”, then fine, it's your soul not mine that will be judged.

It's not me you need to be apologising to, you believe that you will be judged on your words thoughts and deeds not me. It's your soul at stake not mine. Good luck explaining you horrible prejudices to your all knowing maker.
Behold, a certain lawyer stood up and tested him, saying, "Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?"
He said to him, "What is written in the law? How do you read it?"
He answered, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbour as yourself."
He said to him, "You have answered correctly. Do this, and you will live."
But he, desiring to justify himself, asked Jesus, "Who is my neighbor?"
— Luke 10:25–29, World English Bible[4]
Jesus replies with a story:
Jesus answered, "A certain man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and he fell among robbers, who both stripped him and beat him, and departed, leaving him half dead. By chance a certain priest was going down that way. When he saw him, he passed by on the other side. In the same way a Levite also, when he came to the place, and saw him, passed by on the other side. But a certain Samaritan, as he travelled, came where he was. When he saw him, he was moved with compassion, came to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. He set him on his own animal, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him. On the next day, when he departed, he took out two denarii, gave them to the host, and said to him, 'Take care of him. Whatever you spend beyond that, I will repay you when I return.' Now which of these three do you think seemed to be a neighbor to him who fell among the robbers?"
He said, "He who showed mercy on him."
Then Jesus said to him, "Go and do likewise."
— Luke 10:30–37, World English Bible[5]

Yes ... and likewise, if a queer is injured or sick, it is my Christian duty to care for him ... even if he has AIDS as a result of his abominable sexual perversion.

Your Saviour asks more of you though doesn't He? He asks not just that tend begrudgingly to his physical needs, He asks that you love him.
Your God will know what you really think, and lawyer, if you can't fool me, what chance of fooling your Christ? You condemn yourself with your own words.
