for the record
A word before we proceed, Mr Chairman.
One the basis of the material presented in my next post, I submit that Sophia has as much right to represent YHWH at this forum as Jesus does. One could argue, in fact, that Lady Wisdom's claim to representative status takes priority over his based on both seniority and consensus.
Seniority: support for Sophia's divine attributes and 'firstborn' status existed for centuries before Jesus was born.
Consensus: the Hebrew text supporting Sophia's status is regarded as authoritative by more people than the Greek Gospel narratives--and this, before we even begin to consider the texts honoring Sophia that exist outside Jewish culture.
I just wanted these facts to appear in the minutes. Thank you.

from Sophia's portfolio
A supporting document for Sophia's résumé:
Ages ago I was set up,
at the first, before the beginning of the earth.
When there were no depths I was brought forth,
when there were no springs abounding with water.
Before the mountains had been shaped,
before the hills, I was brought forth”
when he had not yet made earth and fields,
or the world’s first bits of soil.
When he established the heavens, I was there,
when he drew a circle on the face of the deep,
when he made firm the skies above,
when he established the fountains of the deep,
when he assigned to the sea its limit,
so that the waters might not transgress his command,
when he marked out the foundations of the earth,
then I was beside him, like a master worker;
and I was daily his delight,
rejoicing before him always,
rejoicing in his inhabited world
and delighting in the human race.

My. That is most compelling. I think I'm having a Road to Dusseldorf experience.
No doubt some modern cycnic will suggest the disciples faked the evidence.
That just goes to show you, though, doesn't it? Motive is everything. It all depends on whether you have a heart willing to believe.

In my experience, there's nothing better than offering a god the flesh of an unbeliever to test bonafides.
You could be the living acid test, Ringo.
I'd start with the Australians. They seem an easy-going lot.
Nothin like throwin a few infidels on the barbie to get the party goin, eh, mate?

Re: Why Loki?
You should have chosen Odin. Loki wasn't involved in the creation of all things, and isn't even very powerful. Odin was one of the three creator brothers (with Ve and Vili), and is usually considered to be the chief God. Odin at least was worshipped, whereas Loki was not (as far as anyone can tell anyway).
And Odin has an eye patch. And ravens. He's very cool.

I just want to say that there are an awful lot of Asian, American, African and Australian Gods who are very unhappy with your OP.
Yes, and some of them can mess you up.
don't apologize: by and large, they just don't care much about repentance.

Re: speaking of Asia
Guan Gung. A military general who did such an effective job of dispatching nuisances that he was promoted to deity.
One offers monetary gifts to a deity, or to ancestors, by burning it. Turning a gift to smoke and sending it into the air spiritualizes the gift.

Re: I am late but I am perfect
Doddy:
If perfection can only produce perfection, and God created everything, thus everything must then be perfect. And, if people were created perfect, then they would stay perfect unless something imperfect influenced them. But there can't be anything imperfect because God created everything, and by your logic, must make things perfect. Thus, all humans are perfect, AND everything they produce is perfect. Thus, this paragraph is perfect.
Looks perfect to me. And I should know, as I am also perfect.

the party at the hospital
Phat (OP):
I want to start a semi humorous, semi serious discussion
One year the young staff at the mental hospital decided to throw a Halloween party. They invited the patients and started talking to them about fun ideas for costumes.
The patients complained. The depressed woman said 'Why do we have to do this? Just leave me alone to die.' The delusional man wanted to know why no invitation had been extended to the purple rhinoceras living in his toilet. The self-abusive woman had an idea for a costume that involved cutting off her head and carrying it to the party under her arm. The paranoid man said 'What are you really trying to do? I see through your deception!'
'Look, you guys,' said the staff members, 'this is supposed to be fun. You say and do the same things every day. We're always asking you to work on your problems. This will be a nice change. Everyone can just lighten up and forget hospital stuff and enjoy themselves for a while.'
The night of the party, the patients came dressed in their costumes as ghosts and clowns and hobos and everything... and had a miserable time. The depressed woman wanted to die, the delusional man missed his rhinoceras, the self-abusive woman was mad at the staff for refusing to cut off her head, and the paranoid man saw ominous signs of malevolence everywhere. Everyone acted the same old way, same old patterns, saying the same crazy things.
The staff was disappointed but not really surprised. They took a few pictures, then fed the patients and sent them back to their rooms after 20 minutes. Only after the patients left did a real party start.

That's actually rather lovely, Malachi II.
I especially enjoyed this bit of pantheism:
I am the all and everything
Are you familiar with the epiphany scene in the Gita? You'd like it.

Ringo:
That would be a hell of a costume if it wasn't for the logistical problems.
It only leaves you one arm to carry all your stuff at the buffet table.
But your head is closer to the food, so maybe everything balances out.

I'm fine if Phat as OP author wants to revise the premise a bit and Phat or some other Admin gives the thread a few days to lie fallow while he comes up with something.
