Hangdawg13 The more things change the more they stay the same.In my short time on Earth I have been exposed to predictions of end-times a lot and while my father was alive we talked often of the end times claims that he was assured were just around the corner. I think the idea of end times stems from the occurance of uncertainty that comes with major changes in social order or times of war and even the aging of generations as they come to face the nearing of their own mortality.So I would disagree that it is human stupidity just the human condition that we all must face.This message has been edited by sidelined, 06-24-2004 12:42 AM

PecosGeorge What do you suppose that one person will be allowed the power to "sit upon nations" as you say? It simply could never happen given the inevitable lack of agreement between nations.We cannot muster the will to feed our children world wide without dispute and you seriously think a single person could come in with the ability to convince nations that have never trusted one another to unite in one government overseeing all aspects of all nations business?
