Actually, mike, the "idols" he was referring to was the bible, and he was taking to task people who hold the inerrancy of a book - whether or not supernaturally inspired - that was redacted and translated by humans as the ultimate authority. Gracchus holds that the universe and nature itself is graphic testimony to God's existence and handiwork. Those who hold to the inerrancy of a book rather than using their God-given intellect to see His handiwork are in his lights denying God. I.e., worshipping idols of their own manufacture. The person he was responding to, going by the name of Bad Fish, is one of the worst on that forum for proclaiming that anyone who doesn't agree with his narrow-minded, strict-literalist, bible-centric YEC view of the world is not a True Christian (tm).
