The "Posts of the Month" forum index page. These topics listed at the above page are still available for additions.----- Now for December 2004 (as per previous months):
quote: Please post your votes for the December, 2004, Post of the Month here. Include author, forum name, thread name, post number, eg: Name: Velvet Tongue Forum: Evolution Thread: I'm no monkey Post #: 17
A link to the message, and perhap a SHORT comment would also be nice. But, this is NOT a place to debate the referenced topic - so be nice. I think that a fairly liberal use of this topic would be a good thing for indexing some nice messages that are otherwise doomed to be lost in the clutter. So, if you encounter a message that seems to say something of special substance, please give it a plug/reference in this topic. New month, same old message and routine, Adminnemooseus

A nice pair in "Radiometric Dating and the Geologic Column: A Critique"
First: Name: Anti-Climacus Forum: Dates and Dating Thread: Radiometric Dating and the Geologic Column: A Critique Post #: 60 And one of the responses: Name: roxrkool Forum: Dates and Dating Thread: Radiometric Dating and the Geologic Column: A Critique Post #: 64 roxrkool's first paragraph:
quote: AC, having read your critical analysis of the paper, all I can say is that you do not fully understand the complexities of igneous systems, nor what results after having been affected by outside influences. However, you are probably the FIRST YEC I have ever seen to present such an analysis and I respect you greatly for it.

Re: A nice pair in "Radiometric Dating and the Geologic Column: A Critique"
I should have nominated AC's post, too. I just never seem to remember to nominate good posts - this is the only board that does that. While I don't agree at all with AC's analysis of the paper, I was impressed with the effort. And thank you for my nomination, though I don't think it's all that great considering I failed to mention the Mars connection. Thank you.

RAZD does a bang up job
RAZD's explanation of Lake Suigetsu graphs
Message 45 Such a nice but information rich explanation. Not pulling any punchs and over simplifying but making it clearer than before. Also noteing that the real issue isn't what was asked about anyway. That is, keeping the big picture in place while dealing with details. Hire this man!

Rrhain Is Crystal Clear
Message 19 Rrhain hits a homerun. It is a clear post, covering all the bases in a small number of words. It doesn't let our newbie off the hook in any way but is completely respectful. ABE Though I notice the newbie doesn't think it was respectful. That's going to mean a bit of difficulty for him. He should see what I've been called. Sylas the numbers guy
Message 99 Sylas covers something non-intuitive well. However, the important point that I would like to emphasize here is the need to quantify some things. Sometimes leaving the numbers out makes an argument useless. Sylas uses just the right amount of numbers here. We grow about 2 nanometers in a life time if the expansion of space were not overriden. I like that. This message has been edited by NosyNed, 12-16-2004 01:18 AM
