In the Netherlands, we start learning Post-Of-The-Month English at age twelve. Some of us never acquire the necessary proficiency, and we make them our Prime Minister. The rest of us, when not abusing our own language, engage anglophones in debates about Intelligent Design and such. Our society is very uncomplicated, really.

Thanks GDR/Primordial Egg - although it is worth pointing out that most of it is quoted as being from "Does God believe in Athiests" by John Blanchard. (a wide ranging book incidently, which deals with a raft of issues in the athiest/non-biblical God believing camps. It's not perfect by any means but encyclopedic in its breadth. And very readable too.)
