The "Posts of the Month" forum index page.
These topics listed at the above page are still available for additions.----- Now for April 2004 (as per previous months):
quote: A link to the message, and perhap a SHORT comment would also be nice. But, this is NOT a place to debate the referenced topic - so be nice. I think that a fairly liberal use of this topic would be a good thing for indexing some nice messages that are otherwise doomed to be lost in the clutter. So, if you encounter a message that seems to say something of special substance, please give it a plug/reference in this topic. New month, same old message and routine,Adminnemooseus

Message 150 A very sucinct, and pithyly expressed warning about the dangers of dogmatic literalism from a believer (now). If Satan is at work his website is http://www.answersingensis.hell. {NED - I'M NOT SURE WHICH MESSAGE YOU WANTED TO REFER TO, BUT 150 IS FROM CRASHFROG - AM (please delete my comment when you fix things)} {Since Ned hasn't noticed this to fix it, I'll just point out that my guess is that he meant message 159 - TL (delete mine, too!!)} {Message 159 was posted 4/8/04. NN must have meant message 148. - AM} [This message has been edited by Adminnemooseus, 04-01-2004] [This message has been edited by AdminTL, 04-09-2004] [This message has been edited by Adminnemooseus, 04-23-2004]

Forum: Evolution Thread: Rate changes for evolution Post #: 29 Message 29 is pretty good, but the topic as a whole has been some of the best "Punk Eek" discussion I've seen. Moose ps to NosyNed - You need to fix the previous message

Post: Message 12 This is to second Quetzal's comment on whatever's post. I can't decide if it belongs here (so it doesn't get lost), humour (cause it is so funny) or faith and belief since it manages to capture just how amazingly un-literal an apparent biblical literalist can be.

Ned, I thank you for nominating me for a monthly post of the month, in light of your clever use of satire, think you should be nominated for post of the month, in spite of nominating you, I've pasted Message 29 of 46 of Animals of the Flood thread, on the subject of at times needing to consult the hebrew meaning of words that are all exclusive, as in this case, in light of "only", etc... it is interesting, the bible literally that its not supporting all life perished in the biblical flood, because in kjv genesis 7:23 "only" is not an all exclusive hebrew word, in that it could mean nontheless, etc...
P.S. The creatures in Australia survival is also related to less glacial evidences, supporting the hydroplate theory, that were more problematic in the northern hemisphere, than in Australia, though I would welcome any finding kangaroo fossils in other continents, or native hoofed creatures surviving in Australia, to prove my hypothesis wrong, so the proof is in the pudding (fossil evidences), that the word "only" was an incorrect English word choice for the hebrew word only, but Noah nevertheless remained alive and they that were with him on the ark, etc... Message 29 of 46 of Animals of the Flood thread It appears when checking the hebrew that the use of "only" could mean nevertheless, meaning its not all consuming, that if a mole could climb aboard debris, or if some albatross, ostrich, kiwi, whatever, could swim, feed, they then didn't perish on the surface, and helped to repopulate the surface of the earth, it was a world flood, no hoofed creatures in Australia, etc...P.S. Sometimes you have to go to the Hebrew to clarify wording, etc... kjv Gen 7:23 And (853) every3605 living substance3351 was destroyed4229 which834 was upon5921 the face6440 of the ground,127 both man,4480, 120 and5704 cattle,929 and5704 the creeping things,7431 and5704 the fowl5775 of the heaven;8064 and they were destroyed4229 from4480 the earth:776 and Noah5146 only389 remained7604 alive, and they that834 were with854 him in the ark.8392 H389'ak ak Akin to H403; a particle of affirmation, surely; hence (by limitation) only: - also, in any wise, at least, but, certainly, even, howbeit, nevertheless, notwithstanding, only, save, surely of a surety, truly, verily, + wherefore, yet (but). Forum: Education and Creation/Evolution Thread: Two important questions etc. Post: 33 Another great post from Sylas. He has a writing style that reminds me of Michael Shermer ("Why People Believe Weird Things"), and I like where he says:
I'll state frankly that in my experience, almost all anti-evolutionists arguments, or putative alternatives, are unmitigated codswallop Not to mention balderdash, horsefeathers, and an ol' heap of shite.
