Sorry, I should have looked through the code more thoroughly. It should be working now.

How do we use a monospace font like Courier New in order to preserve a character's location in a line, thus allowing us to set up tables with columns or to sketch an ASCII diagram. An example would be my diagram in Message 484 of a hypothetical descent tree.
Normally I would use the HTML pre tag which displays the text in a fixed-width font like Courier New plus retaining all space characters and newlines. In that Message 484 I did use the pre HTML tags and that worked well enough at the time, but now with the update all characters are jammed up to the left margin with all spaces having been stripped out. I've tried a few things such as setting face to courier new but to no avail.
code does work ... kind of. It still either eliminates or uses different widths for space characters, such that what I type in does not quite gets displayed that way. For example, I copied that tree diagram to my text editor (which is always set to Courier New), lined everything up perfectly, then copy-and-pasted that to the message edit box and the spaces were off (too narrow). Close, but no cheroot. Is there a solution? OBTW, here's that tree diagram using code tags:
Tree: A | +-------------+---------------+ | | B C | | +---+--------+ +----------+------+ | | | | D E F G | +---+--------+ | | H I I had to add that word, "Tree:", because regardless of what I tried the leading spaces before "A" kept getting stripped out, even using code.

Has got to be a bug, probably one I introduced near the end of last year, looking at it now...

This should be fixed. There was a bug that removed leading white space on the first line of text inside [code]. When I put your diagram in Microsoft Word using the Courier New font I had to change the spacing to make it look right. This is what I'm seeing now using [code]:
A | +-------------+---------------+ | | B C | | +---+--------+ +----------+------+ | | | | D E F G | +---+--------+ | | H I Use peek to see my spacing. I might be able to get <pre> to work also, I'll take a look, now.

Making the <pre> tag work is more than I want to tackle right now. I'll put it on the list.

I've just released a minor change that makes it an option for buttons to be textual instead of images. I'm working on another website where I'm planning to only have textual buttons and was hoping to hear people's opinions. The old image buttons are still there and can easily be turned back on.
Please do a hard reset to see the buttons at their proper size.

Well, cosmetics - the New Topic and General Reply buttons are about twice the size they should be. Jump right off the page. If that was the intention, it worked. A bit disturbing given the rest.

Does doing a hard reload help?

No. They are still there ... in the corner ... staring at me. I think they're laughing.

Oh, mine are about that size.
I thought they were okay. Then again, I'm pretty used to handling large things. They don't scare me. And I'm definitely not compensating for anything. You're an angry inch!

You're an angry inch! Sorry. I only do metric. If this is as the master intended, which you evidence, then I have no stand. I was unprepared for the shock of the change violently assaulting my vision. I am old. Percy is trying to shock all us old guys into heart attacks. My constitution is weak but he missed, this time. This too shall fold seamlessly into my world in short order. Then I can await the next shock to my environs. I will try to prepare. An angry decimeter.Stop Tzar Vladimir the Condemned!

These are all settable parameters. I just took the size down a notch. Better (hard reload required)? And we can always go back to the image buttons if people prefer them.

Noticeable difference. Thank you.
Other than size and color scheme of some buttons is there a big difference image v text under the hood? I'd go for whatever makes life easier. I'm easy.Stop Tzar Vladimir the Condemned!

I look at your recent post in the Test Thread. That's Message 64.
So I click the "Peek" button. And I get:
