The storm didn't even get close to Phoenix. Absolutely beautiful weather.
Now, Friday 10 am, it is 45° crisp clear sunny gorgeous. Expect to hit highs into the low 70s on bright sunny Sat and Sun. This is what people come here for - absolutely gorgeous. And dry. Comfort levels through the roof.

Re: Midwest unprepared
Why wasn't the midwest better prepared? Could it be that the drumbeat of global warming / climate change has at least subconsciously caused the public to somewhat discard the possibility of extreme cold?
Rahvin has given an excellent response.
All I can do is ridicule your dumb ass.
Here the world is burning and you try to make a political fight over the perceived color of the flames. Typical religious nutter.
You are still a religious nutter, aren't you? You haven't seen the light, had the scales lifted, experienced an epiphany and become a sane humanist, have you?

Interesting you should cite this with what's going on elsewhere.
In case you haven't heard,
which you wouldn't have if your priest hasn't written it on the back of one of your holy crumpets after a lengthy confession,
the rest of the world is experiencing an extensive and devastating heat wave. Setting records on the 50,000-year scale.
quote:
This month the world recorded its hottest ever average temperature, not just once but four times in four days.
That heat has to come from somewhere. Thermodynamics. We are, literally, sucking the heat off of the Upside Down.
Don't be too concerned. In a few months we're going to give it back. All of it. Plus a lot.

If the oceans are rising in America, how come there are no reports of rising oceans in Australia?
Because your Aussie cult doesn't know how to read.
Sea level rise in Australia
quote:
Rates of sea level rise since 1993 have been above the global average over much of the western Pacific, including most of the Australian coastline, and below the global average in the eastern Pacific.
In some regions, particularly in northern Australia, the rate of post-1993 sea level rise has been up to 5 mm/yr.
Ok, wait, wait. Looking at what came up in the search, Aussie sea level stuff is quite prevalent. Either you did the stupid Dredge thing of just spouting off like an inane ninny without bothering to look or you're trolling. A bullshit bomb thrower with no interest in discussion. Is that the leftover Kleinman influence?

Thank you for this fine example of Climate Babble.
You're welcome. I didn't want to get too technical on you since I now the problems you have with facts and reality.

Re: Ice Storm
Here where I live we are having ice pellets, with about 2 inches on the ground and 18F.
I feel with you, Tany.
Here in Phoenix we have had a major fall in our daily high temperatures. From the 115°F just a few months ago to a daily high of only 64° today with predicted daily highs of only 70-77°F degrees for the remainder of the next 2 weeks. While we have escaped many of the small rain showers that are apt to pop up this time of year, we, daily, have had to endure hours-long stretches of warming sunshine contrasting the gentle 70° breeze through the valley.
Neither of our weather issues will remain for too long. In a few months neither of us will be suffering the cold any more.
