i've been devouring a lot of books lately, as my eyes get better and my old self comes back as my diabetes sugars fall. I've found that I have more mental focus and can better defend my biases as well as my discoveries along the way. I'm almost finished with Ray Dalio's book, but my quest for knowledge extends far beyond the author. Hence my latest book:
The Fourth Turning: An American Prophecy - What the Cycles of History Tell Us About America's Next Rendezvous with Destiny The Author, William Strauss, passed in 2007 and thus does not have Dalios perspective or observation on the financial recession of 2008 nor of the blatant infantile attempts to "fix" the system and avoid the necessary pain since then.

It doesn't show in your posts. And you shouldn't be defending your biases anyway. You should be trying to get rid of them.

What can be asserted without evidence can also be dismissed without evidence. -Christopher Hitchens Facts don't lie or have an agenda. Facts are just facts "God did it" is not an argument. It is an excuse for intellectual laziness. If your viewpoint has merits and facts to back it up why would you have to lie?

And I never knowingly lie...at worst I assume or exaggerate. Arguing is fun for me, usually. (And) as a matter of fact, I would be interested in what point you saw that I was missing. I would be an idiot to not respect the intelligence of the peanut gallery to some extent.

As Theodoric pointed out, that's not the point. The point is that NOBODY should be prejudiced in favor of one side or another. EVERYBODY should do their utmost to eliminate their own prejudices and biases. You talked in Message 1 about "defending" your biases, which NOBODY should EVER do.

It's rare when I allow other people to tell me hat is and is not a lie. As an example, you guys braying about lack of evidence for Jesus does *not* make my belief a lie.

On more than one occasion I told Faith that it's worse to BE a racist than to be CALLED a racist. If somebody calls ME a racist, my reaction is to ask WHY they think I am a racist - and if there is anything to what they say, I try to overcome my racist tendencies. The same applies to lies. If somebody accuses me of lying, I ask them to point out exactly what the lie was - and I try to correct their misunderstanding.

I don't know if anybody ever called a belief a lie. Your belief is definitely wrong - and clinging to it despite the evidence is foolish.
