Re: Forewarned.
So a question to Dredge and Kleinman.
Were Evolution ever proven beyond a reasonable doubt to be the truth, would that one fact destroy Christianity? Why or why not?

Catholics and Evolution
I know that. So why then do you teach (or preach) stuff that the Catholic church wouldn't condone? Lets explore a bit.
A Brief Exploration of the Catholic Position on Evolution
Catholic Exchange:
The divorce from philosophy creates an environment where both theology and the natural sciences overstep their bounds. This is most evidenced by the rationalist-materialist declaration that there is no God, while the biblical literalist tells us the world is only 6000 years old, even though God-given reason tells us otherwise, on both accounts. Answers to the complexities of life are reduced to either a material level or turned into a faith-based system devoid of reason. The Catholic approach is not an either/or, it is a both/and system. We say yes to scientific discovery, yes to Aquinas and Aristotle, and yes to the Book of Genesis. That’s far more yeses than we are given from either the scientism camp or the creationism camp.(...)First, it is important to understand that the Church makes no official pronouncements on matters of science. That is not within her authority. She promulgates teachings of faith as given to us through Sacred Scripture and Sacred Tradition. She cannot overstep her boundaries and make judgments on matters of science. The only time she formally responds to scientific matters is when theological or spiritual issues are involved. Popes and theologians discuss scientific discoveries, but the Church has no official position on any scientific theory. Which leads us to the Church’s first discussion of evolution.
So if the Church has no position on any scientific theory, why is it that you seem to?

A Legend In His Own Mind?
Kishony and Lenski ...yada yada yada
Though the mathematics that describes biological evolution is not that difficult, it is way over your head and the same applies to biologists. Otherwise, they would have described how drug resistance evolves and why cancer treatments fail.
So now your God given math skills are way over everyone's head? I suppose you humbly give credit to the good Lord for blessing you with such divine intelligence. Or more likely, you are seeking web searches to finally validate your God given gift that no biologist nor layman throughout the land can understand. NEWSFLASH: We don't care. We see you proving nothing. We just see you going on and on either for personal amusement or to get your name out there through web searches. Am I wrong?

Re: Happy Darwin's Day
This mania over Darwin is unrelated to the late man himself. He is simply a symbol of the thinking shared by many secular humanists. Now be a good Catholic and don't call them Darwinoids. They are critically thinking humanists and need to be respected as a belief in their own right. The belief they share isn't in evolution. It isn't in Darwin. It is in the mojo of each other. They are in essence a "church" without a head. They believe in positivity. In human reason. In data and evidence. And they will tell us that its not a belief. It is rationality itself.

Re: Happy Dum Dum Day
Even if I thought someone was oppressed or possessed by a demon, by denigrating them and calling them fools or evil, I am only feeding the demon. I have actually experienced instances of demonic (or unexplained, for the critics in the conversation) presence/activity. Its been awhile, though. I think that part of the reason I no longer see or experience such stuff is because I myself am so carnal and weak. Now that my blood sugars are lower, my intelligence is coming back. Once my heart catches up, I will be ready to discern such stuff.

Cardinal Dredge writes:
Good Lord ... you're so clueless and brainwashed.
Not at all. I am learning to express an argument not only through scripture and a theistic stance but by also taking the rational contrarian position. Its something you should try. You cant win a war if you don't know your enemy. And its why I have stuck around EvC long after folks such as you come and go. I actually like my enemy. ( and no, dum dum...its not the demons I like! )

Why Do WeCare?
AK writes:
Why do you care? You don't even understand what Darwin wrote.
Why do any of us care? Why do your opponents care enough about you to let you go on and on and on without some administrator booting you?

Re: Why Do WeCare?
OK I'll confess. I know little about what Darwin wrote. It does not interest me. Now what?
