Too easy ... you can't demonstrate it's "true" (ie, a fact) that it was "through common descent" that Toll-like receptors were first discovered in fruit flies, and through common descent they were discovered in other species, including humans. Our knowledge of toll-like receptors are vital for understanding immunology, including our knowledge of how vaccines work. Show me a single thing in the paragraph above that is not truetoll-like receptors were discovered in other species, including humans. As I've already pointed out, you can't cite even one scientist involved in toll-receptor research who says anything about the role UCD played. In the article you provided, no such scientist even mentions evolution, let alone UCD. ... but you're just being a good and faithful Darwnoid, so lies and bullshit are to be expected.

Interesting. I grew up in Queensland and lived there for 50 years ... the only Ham I heard of was the kind one finds at the supermarket. Perhaps Ken Ham is a creationist pig farmer ...

Ken Ham must have evolved from a pig, so why the hell do you claim he evolved from an ape? Wake up, it ain't bloody rocket science!
Are you saying the ham you buy at your local supermarket comes from an ape? A butcher told me once that ham comes from pigs. You can't both be right!

This is Ken Hams apologetic showcase.. And don't bullshit us that you have never heard of him. Any good Catholic would support the official position of their church that evolution did in fact happen. You have waundered from the true faith and embraced Protestant YEC, I fear. Edited by Phat, : added point about Dredges Heresy. Ken Ham He discovered that he could make more money in America than in Australia. Ken Ham says it is all about the Bible. But I'm suspecting that it is really all about the money.Fundamentalism - the anti-American, anti-Christian branch of American Christianity

I see you're another one of those creationist dupes who doesn't understand the difference between an ancestor and a cousin. Maybe you don't understand family relationships because you're an only child? Ken Ham must have evolved from a pig, so why the hell do you claim he evolved from an ape? Everybody has grandparents but not everybody has uncles and aunts or cousins. On my mother's side alone, I had seven aunts and four uncles by blood, plus seven uncles and four aunts by marriage. And they produced forty-seven cousins. My cousins are not my grandparents. There is a direct line of descent from my grandparents to my parents to me - and there are other SEPARATE direct lines of descent from my grandparents to my aunts and uncles to my cousins. But there is NO line of descent between my cousins and me. This understanding comes easily when there are so many of us. It may be difficult for you if you have no cousins. So no, we are not evolved from apes. We are their cousins, not their grandchildren. We are evolved from common ancestors. And no, we are not evolved from pigs. We are their cousins, not their grandchildren. We are evolved from common ancestors. Your hero, the idiot Kleinman, is afraid to discuss this because it will only make him look stupider.Come all of you cowboys all over this land, I'll teach you the law of the Ranger's Command: To hold a six shooter, and never to run As long as there's bullets in both of your guns. -- Woody Guthrie

No, Dredge, you don't got it. Not like that at all.
Cupid and Tooth Fairy are fictitious characters just like your god and your devil. They're not real. They can't evolve. Actually, they seem to fit your asinine fiat creation model. Wholesale stupid boogered into existence by snorting your nose at it. Yeah, that makes sense.Stop Tzar Vladimir the Condemned!

As I've already pointed out, you can't cite even one scientist involved in toll-receptor research who says anything about the role UCD played. I already cited those papers that did exactly that.

Dredge writes: Ken Ham must have evolved from a pig, so why the hell do you claim he evolved from an ape? Ken Ham is an ape, just like all humans. Ken Ham is also a primate, a mammal, a vertebrate, and a eukaryote. This was true since before Darwin first proposed his theory. Linnaeus discovered these facts 100 years before Darwin. It's funny how those who reject evolution don't know the basics of biology.

Never mind trying to put "other words" in my mouth. Read the words I actually say. In other words, you can cite the grand total of ZERO scientific papers that support your claim ... I have made no claim. I have stated scientific fact. I have also told you that EVERY scientific fact does not necessarily correspond with a specific paper. We don't need papers that say the earth is round or water is wet because those facts are pretty well-known.
Dredge writes:
That's EXACTLY how it works. YOU have made the claim that disagrees with all scientific knowledge. YOU are the one that has to back that up. I am in no way obligated to back up the fact that the earth is round or that water is wet.
ringo writes:
No, Einstein, that's not how it works ... you made the claim, so the onus is on you to back it up with some scientific evidence. The onus is on you to cite any scientific paper in which any creationist or any science-denier has ever produced any useful idea about biology. Dredge writes:
And you're a 9-IQ creationist, so nobody cares what you think. But you won't, bcoz you can't, which makes you a typical Darwinoid - ie, a bs-artist, a con-man and a charlatan.Come all of you cowboys all over this land, I'll teach you the law of the Ranger's Command: To hold a six shooter, and never to run As long as there's bullets in both of your guns. -- Woody Guthrie
