The Jesus commune likely followed the traditional Temple ways of having temple Prostitutes supply the coin to buy bread. That was the custom when in areas of finite recourses. A temple without bread is just an empty house. That is why the Temple Prostitutes were afforded so much respect. Regards DL

I think it would have been all Temples where resources were finite and leaders wanted to reduce the numbers of infant sacrifice. The ancients tried to sanctify man and wife sex because too many women were dying from too many pregnancies. Regards DL

Is all you have is assertions? Please provide some sort of historical evidence. Just because you say it does not make it true. First you were talking about jewish temples now you say all Temples? What temples? Only jewish , mystery religions? What?

An assertion based on facts and reading. It was more by location. The more finite the resources, the more controls had to be imposed. I am sure that it you google, Temple Prostitutes, you will find much of interest. St. Peters is said to have been built on the backs of prostitutes. Regards DL

Non sequitur. You seem to be having a lot of trouble understanding a simple concept: What we're discussing here is ONLY the honor system that Jesus and His disciples and camp-followers used in disbursing their collective personal resources. Everything outside their group is irrelevant.
