This is America. We have billions to throw around especially if you’re a well-connected business so paying doesn’t create any burden. That’s what FEMA is for.
Not to mention the fact that all the baths, meals, medical care, tents, running water and sewage systems, legal aid and education will stimulate the economy.

Re: Afhghanistan and Global Perspective
Phat writes:
Maybe what I am beginning to understand is that some of our middle-class support globalism ...
The only one who's obsessed with globalism is you.
Phat writes:
I lean more towards Nationalism than I do Globalism...
Yes, your Nazi sympathies are apparent.
Phat writes:
... because I feel that as I age, my class interests will take a back seat to global programs.
And so they should.
Phat writes:
And the only reason I liked Trump diplomacy in any way was that he thought American interests were getting taken advantage of by foreign interests who benefited from us more than we did from them.
Remember that Trump was the idiot who slapped tariffs on foreign products, making them more expensive for you. How is that looking after your interests?
Phat writes:
Otherwise, I'm glad to be rid of Trump....but more like him will come if the small businessmen and uneducated retirees get passed over in favor of globalism.
Yes, I have no doubt that you will cut your own throat to spite the boogeyman of "globalism".
Phat writes:
Am I again ignorant of the BIG PICTURE?
Yes. The big picture is that you have a lot more to gain by looking outward than by locking yourself up in your own little world.
Phat writes:
Someone enlighten me.
You've had a lot of light shone on you but you're careful not to let any of it sink in.

Libertarians writes:
Libertarians advocate for voluntary exchange, where people are free to make their own choices about what to do with their lives, their time, their bodies, their livelihood, and their dollars.
If Americans want to give money to the government for one reason or another, they should be free to do so. If Americans prefer to spend their money on other things, then they should be free to do that also.
Did you have a straight face when you quoted that?
Do Libertarians use the roads that other people's taxes paid for? Do Libertarians use the schools that other people's taxes paid for? Do Libertarians use the water and sewage systems that other people's taxes paid for? Are Libertarians protected by the police and armed forces that other people's taxes paid for?
Of all the #$%ing god-damned stupid things that you've posted, I'm nominating that one for the #$%ing god-damned stupidest.
For God's sake, THINK for once.

Is that too brief for you?
It's a non-sequitur.
"Children" riding in cars with their dads "hundreds of times" does not translate to the Vice President's son flying to foreign countries hundreds of times with his father.

What used to be the loyal opposition is no more.
If it's any consolation, we have a similar problem in Canada. In my opinion, the job of the opposition is to provide viable alternatives to the the government's policies - and if the government "steals" their ideas, that should be cause for celebration. But in the past, we've even had the Conservative Party refuse to reveal their policies except in an election campaign.
And all too often, what they call bad ideas when they're in opposition miraculously become good ideas when they're in office.

So your only response to my (and millions of others) concerns about this complete lack of mainstream media coverage of Hunter Biden as opposed to Trump's children, is that he didn't go on hundreds of foreign trips with his father during his vice presidency, that it was only a few dozen, and therefore there was NO WAY anything suspicious could have happened?
The response is that YOU lied (or just didn't bother to find the truth), so it's hard to take YOUR suspicions seriously.
marc9000 writes:
It's why liberals can't do well in successful debate shows, talk shows, their arguments just don't hold up.
Well, nobody can be expected to back up every argument in real time on a "debate show". But note that YOUR argument was the one that didn't stand up.

As I have pointed out before, the roughest rides I get are from people who are "on my side". Everything I post I expect to be corrected by the smart people. They are skeptical of everything, especially their own "side".
