Paul was simply one of the charter chapters of Club Christian. Each of the many different churches were separate and independent and it was Peter that is alleged to have been the leader of the Church in Rome. Paul organized quite a few other chapters of Club Christian and until very near their deaths Paul & Peter were not quite in agreement about almost anything.
It was a couple centuries before the Church in Rome was considered as much more than simply 'the first among equals'. But the Roman Catholic Church was not a creation of either Peter or Paul but rather a political creation of Constantine and only about 300 years after either Peter or Paul.My Website: My Website

As usual you are simply taking pieces parts out of context. Acts is just one compilation created to market the author or authors positions.
If you look at the body of inter office memos what is shown is independent churches.Edited by jar, : applin spallin My Website: My Website

And all of the Epistles are inter-office memos. And Acts is not consistent and definitely contains mutually exclusive accounts; for example the two different accounts of Paul's conversion found in Acts.

Only kinda sorta halfway agree.
There really isn't some "Jesus mythâ„¢" just as there isn't some "Bibleâ„¢". The interoffice memos are pretty much Pauline but even there everything evolves over time particularly as some of the absolute basics turn out to be false like the "End Times". But the unknown author or authors of John's Gospel also create yet an entirely different "Jesus myth". And then the politics and power struggles created yet more new versions so that by the time Christianity became a State Religion it was something likely unrecognizable to the earlier Jewish sect called Christians. My Website: My Website

Phat writes: How could anyone possibly know that the End Times are false until the "End" occurs? Because Jesus told them when the End Times would come. And that time came and went without the End Time coming. And so the APOLOGIST had to handwave the failure of JESUS' prophecy away.My Website: My Website

Phat writes: So in other words, you don't see Jesus as having any special foresight as to what's happening today. Phat, I'm simply reporting what is actually written in the Bible stories. In the stories Jesus told his disciples that the End Times would be during their lifetime. Time passed. All the first crop of disciples was dying off yet there was no End Times or signs of End Times. Jesus prophesy failed. That was a major crisis so the Apologists, particularly Paul, changed the narrative. Apologists ever since then have been handwaving all the failed prophecies away. They are still making a good living doing just that.
Phat writes: And you have said before that GOD if GOD exists likely wouldn't consider humans any more special than pond scum. (or ants. Or birds.) The God in Genesis one said that.Edited by jar, : appalin spallin My Website: My Website

I pointed that out above. Jesus was another apocalyptic messiah and said the end would come during the generation then alive.
He was wrong. Thus it became necessary for the Apologists to try to make up a different scenario. My Website: My Website

Remember Jesus was a Socialist if not a Communist. He lived in a communal setting off donated money and shared equally except when he wanted special oils and scents when he accepted anointment with very expensive oils that could have been sold to help the poor.
His excuse was she did good for him and he wouldn't be around forever but the poor would always be with them. So that's what Jesus did.

Phat, read the Bible, please.
Did God tell the individuals to use the seven good years to prepare for the seven lean years, or was the message sent in dreams to the head of the government? My Website: My Website

Jesus never said to give it all to him. He said to use it to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, shelter the homeless, comfort the sorrowful, heal the sick and protect the helpless.

Yes Phat, I'm pretty much poor, well better off them some but my house costs less than a Jeep Grand Waggoneer.
But remember it's not any of us telling you that you must be poor, it was Jesus. My Website: My Website

Phat writes: The atheists are skilled at always interjecting enough doubt into the arguments so that the theists never win. Perhaps this is the way it was meant to be... Have I ever mentioned that my religious beliefs are irrational, illogical and not supported by any evidence? Have I ever mentioned that all religious beliefs are irrational, illogical and not supported by any evidence? Have I ever mentioned that EVERY God or god that humans can describe and discuss and worship is but a human creation and exists only so long as there are believers? Phat, it is simply impossible to logically and rationally defend something that is irrational, illogical and not supported by any evidence. BUT there are lessons and models and methods and processes and procedures found in most religions that do work to improve this life if followed. If Christians actually did what Jesus or the Buddha or what is included as the basis in the teachings of Loa Tzu or Confucius or the Dali Llama it might be possible to claim religions had so social value. Unfortunately that seems extremely rare.
