Topic: Trump and Trump supporters keep using the Y2K Fallacy, and it is driving me crazy

the thing you don't realize about the Y2K panic is that the reason nothing happened is the hundreds of thousands of hours many people put in to make sure nothing happened. The problem was there, but the effort to avert the problems was also there.

that also probably did not include the many hours of testing of their software before hand

I was working at a large computer company in 1999. One of the things that we worked on was testing to find Y2K bugs. One project found more than 500 problems that would have broken those programs. They problme then could get fixed. Do you know how many hundreds of thousands of man hours went into make sure that nothing would happen?
