I don't have an overly negative view of religious indoctrination, but the trends are hard to ignore. From what I have read, about 80% of Christians are Christians because they grew up in the church. As more and more people leave the church in the US we will see fewer and fewer Christians over time. In my lifetime (if I make it to the average), I may even see the cross-over point where Christians are not longer the majority. The UK seems to be doing just fine with that situation, and I suspect the US will do just fine as well.

Eg, "There will be wars and rumors of wars." -- so when hasn't there been?I even had a book, "History of the End of the World", which was filled with such examples, the vast majority of which had nothing to do with the Bible.
