She would have no needs from us, apart from a possibility of communication and the ability to help us see ourselves in a new way. This, by the way, is one of our points of contention.While I claim that the God I envision desires communion, communication, and the ability and opportunity to help us, you see that as a hindrance should it be true....focusing on the importance of the development and application of personal responsibility to ourselves and for others.

No, what I see as a hindrance is counting on God to do the work we are charged with doing or expecting God to do what Jesus said we should be doing.If you substitute believing for doing then nothing gets done.I have no problem if you believe you are communicating with God but if you suggest that others need to listen to what God says then it is reasonable to ask "How do I tell it is God and not a bad burrito?"So far no one has ever explained how to tell that the communication really is two way much less with God.
