Faith writes: New Cat's Eye writes: Faith writes: It's been discussed to death for a year now with all the evidence you could ask for, I'm asking for that evidence... where can I find it? Remember: opinions don't count. Oh opinions like Flaherty's which cover a lot of factual information do indeed count. What factual information would that be? I went through the Flaherty opinion piece in detail in my Message 54, and I didn't find much factual. You're response in Message 59 was to ignore the entire analysis and repeat your accusation that the Mueller investigation was actually a coverup of Clinton misdeeds. So what is this factual information that you keep mentioning but never describing? In fact, where is anything of a factual nature from you in this entire thread? --Percy

If Clinton "colluded with Russia" then she should get her money back. What did she get out of the deal? Unflattering emails were stolen from the DNC by Russian state sponsored hackers which were released through Wikileaks. Russian state sponsored propagandists spread fake news stories across social media that were targeted to specific voting precincts in order to help Donald win. Is this what it should look like if Clinton was colluding with Russia to influence the election?

I see you've been accused of lying about this. I presume you believe it's true. It isn't. I don't want to put too fine a spin on this. A statement can be a lie if the originator lied when he made it up. People who repeat lies, may or may not be lying. When careless people repeat crap without any attempt whatsoever to discern the truth, we might say they are reckless, or foolish, or liars, or just plain bad company. Why even discuss the color of orange juice with such a person? Edited by NoNukes, : No reason given. Under a government which imprisons any unjustly, the true place for a just man is also in prison. Well, it's a reprint from the daily caller. The reputation of the daily caller when it comes to facts is mixed.

Well, it's a reprint from the daily caller. The reputation of the daily caller when it comes to facts is mixed. And looking at Flaherty's other articles shows that his opinion bias is hard right, and willing to accept conspiracy theory arguments. The whole piece is a conflation of old rehashed alt-right myth and conspiracy theories and the whole purpose of it is to (A) deflect people's attention away from the Mueller investigations and (B) to appeal to the gullible Trump supporters and con them into thinking that the Russian investigation is minor, meant to cover up the "real" (ie fake) purpose of ignoring the Clinton "Uranium scandal" (that never existed except in the minds of alt-reich myth/conspiracy theory whacko right wing nutjobs). It has obviously been successful on (B) with Faith. I suspect many Trump followers are also conned. It also has obviously had little success on (A) with people that read news for facts, and who are patiently waiting for the next shoe to drop in the Mueller investigations. It is almost humorous to watch Faith desperately defending this hack opinion piece as having any vestige of factual evidence in it, especially seeing as it is mostly rehashed old debunked conspiracy claims that were old a year ago. Perhaps Faith (and others) should listen to Joy Reid:

One really needs to watch the clip to see how badly the Trump people would like fiction to be fact and fact to be fiction. One might just read this thread and see that kind of desire hotly expressed. We are extremely lucky to have a resident poster who is unwilling or unable to hide their thought processes as they form or endorse one ridiculous opinion after another. I concur in a very non-sarcastic sense. Many of us wonder how someone can be taken in by these unfounded conspiracy theories, and it is very educational to have someone who can help us understand that process.

It's like: "Everything that I want to believe is a true fact and everything that I don't is not."

Just more and more evidence of the Great Polarization in American politics. Half the country knows Trump did not collude with Russia but that Clinton did; the other half thinks the opposite. I pray that God will finally biing the undeniable truth to light.

quote: It seems to me that much of the polarisation comes from the extreme and growing partisanship - and concomitant disregard for the truth - found on the right. It also seems to me that letting the investigations proceed would be the best way of bringing the truth to light. Those who sink to the level of smearing the investigators - and those who promote those smears as real news obviously do not want the truth to be found.
