Re: Fake Or Real? How To Tell? Look at the evidence.
Well, it's a reprint from the daily caller. The reputation of the daily caller when it comes to facts is mixed.
And looking at Flaherty's other articles shows that his opinion bias is hard right, and willing to accept conspiracy theory arguments.
The whole piece is a conflation of old rehashed alt-right myth and conspiracy theories and the whole purpose of it is to (A) deflect people's attention away from the Mueller investigations and (B) to appeal to the gullible Trump supporters and con them into thinking that the Russian investigation is minor, meant to cover up the "real" (ie fake) purpose of ignoring the Clinton "Uranium scandal" (that never existed except in the minds of alt-reich myth/conspiracy theory whacko right wing nutjobs).
It has obviously been successful on (B) with Faith. I suspect many Trump followers are also conned.
It also has obviously had little success on (A) with people that read news for facts, and who are patiently waiting for the next shoe to drop in the Mueller investigations.
It is almost humorous to watch Faith desperately defending this hack opinion piece as having any vestige of factual evidence in it, especially seeing as it is mostly rehashed old debunked conspiracy claims that were old a year ago.
Perhaps Faith (and others) should listen to Joy Reid:
Many saw Trump's mention of the deal, among other Clinton-related topics, as a distraction from news about Robert Mueller's investigation into Russian interference in the election, which led to charges against three former Trump campaign officials on Monday.
Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump
Uranium deal to Russia, with Clinton help and Obama Administration knowledge, is the biggest story that Fake Media doesn't want to follow!
As HuffPost explains, Uranium One was a Canadian company with mining operations in the United States, a portion of which was sold in 2010 to the mining arm of a Russian nuclear energy agency, as approved by the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States.
On her show Sunday, Reid pulled apart what her show's Twitter account called a "fake news story" about Clinton's supposed involvement in approving the deal, which seemingly stems from reports that the Clinton Foundation had received donations from Uranium One investors. "We're not going to get derailed, but I want to ask you a couple of fact-based questions," Reid told her guest.
As Reid pointed out and Kerns admitted, Clinton, who was secretary of state at the time, did not "sit personally" on the Uranium One deal when it was being approved by CFIUS. She also made sure to remind Kerns (and viewers) that the uranium being mined "is for nuclear power ... not for nuclear bombs," and noted that Clinton Foundation donor Frank Giustra had sold his stake in Uranium One before Clinton was secretary of state.
"So what you're talking about is a deal that nine members of CFIUS approved unanimously," Reid summed up. "None of them was Hillary Clinton. You have a donor who separately gave Hillary Clinton donations at a time when she was not secretary of state. The two things cross in the night, they have no relation to each other."
Note that the CFIUS members have also stated that they would approve the deal again, now.
One really needs to watch the clip to see how badly the Trump people would like fiction to be fact and fact to be fiction.
I don't accept the claim about Clinton's innocence. ...
Hillary is not lily-white, no question, but the evidence shows there was no involvement in the Uranium One deal, that there was no quid-pro-quo, and that rehashing it at this time show desperation to deflect the conversation away from dorado don trump. Again please watch:
... But when I opened this thread I said I knew I wasn't up on all the information involved. ...
So the prudent thing is to accept that Hillary was not involved in a boondoggle with Uranium One, that it was a standard business deal that would be passed again now ... because it was a standard business deal.
... I continue to believe that the true facts are as I stated there, and pray that God will bring out all the truth soon.
Good luck with that. Meanwhile a real issue is the Democrat Primary corruption ... because it challenges our democratic institutions and processes.
