Unfortunately the sources are not misleading with regards to your question, and being open about the weaknesses of the current presentation is an example of honesty, not an excuse to discard the whole thing. And you did get further explanations of the problem, so claiming that you did not hardly helps you.More importantly the fact that we do not know the details hardly invalidates the whole story. (You would have to throw out a LOT of history if that were true). Evidence which is insufficient to show us everything can still strongly confirm the big picture.

The evidence, yes. More to the point you need to understand how science works, understand that it does not claim to offer complete and infallible knowledge about everything, understand how it copes with the limitations of the evidence available.For instance you may think Physics is simple and factual, but nobody knows how to make General Relativity work with Quantum Mechanics. The two theories are hugely successful but where they intersect the experts really don't know what happens.
But neither theory is disproved by this - scientists accept that they work in the domains where they work, while some specialists keep plugging away at the problem.Likely neither theory is exactly right, but in practically every case you they will be so close as makes no difference - only very extreme cases will be that far out. Just as Newtonian mechanics is good enough for nearly all practical cases on Earth, so that you'll probably never need to know either Relativity or Quantum Mechsnics.

Belief is not needed or even wanted. No one has asked you to believe anything except the fact that evidence as presented actually exists. There are fossils. No belief is needed. You can even go examine the fossils your self once you exhibit some indication you actually know enough to understand what you see, comprehend what you are told and are capable of listening to instructions.You are not at that stage yet.You are at the stage where you can be allowed to actually look up catalogs of the fossils.Google "Fossil Collections" and it will give you a list of where many fossils are being kept.BUT, first you should try to learn what Science is and what Science does.Your not at that stage yet either.

How about starting again from scratch?The first thing you have to accept is that the ToE is a scientific theory as valid and supported as any other. As a 19 year old know-nothing, you need to start from there. There's a hundred and fifty years of peer reviewed research behind it and so much evidence you couldn't make a dent in it if you started reading now and carried on till you died.There is no 'controversy', the ToE has an overwhelming concensus and there is no other competing scientific theory. Those opposed to the theory do it for religious reason and in one hundred and fifty years have been unable to refute it based on evidence. Even so most religions accept it - only the most fundamental still rail against it.As a scientist - or at least a potential one - you are obliged to accept the body of work that underpins the discipline and if you want to challenge it you are required to understand it fully first. Only then can you start chipping away at it and it can only be done by providing real evidence. You've charged in here with zero knowledge and written off one of the most successful scientific explanations of our world that there's ever been - so far you've got off lightly.Have a bit of humilty and you might learn something.
