Re: Questioning the Flood
In my experience (and actually borne out here by Faith) once you get talking about salt beds someone immediately tries to switch to salt domes and so it is important to be ready to describe the difference and to provide the model, method, process and procedure that currently explains how they are created as in Message 99.

Re: Questioning the Flood
Faith writes:
The point about salt domes has to do with questioning the timing of the laying down of the strata. How the salt was laid down is a different question.
LOL
Faith, so far there are no answers to either question that does not require more than 6000 years.
Unless you have a model, method, process, procedure that can explain creating the salt beds, burying the salt beds and then creating the salt domes in less than 6000 years you are still just talking nonsense.

Re: Plant Fossils
TTBOMK, yes, those plants are examples of ones found during a particular period. That does not mean that there are not similar plants found earlier or later, as always the devil is in the details. Like animals, plants evolved over time.

And why did no marsupials stay in the middle east?
Maybe they did. Look at the sheath of this burial knife.

What's the scientific evidence that erosion can render a hard spiky lumpy surface flat and horizontal?
You really need to stop making really stupid assertions Faith.
You certainly should know by now that erosion does flatten surfaces. In fact the whole process of weathering/erosion is moving stuff from high places to low places until the surface is flat.

one little, two little ...
There is only one Chauvet Cave after all.
Then there were two.
quote:
A few kilometres away, on a pine covered hill, sits a stadium-sized concrete hanger.
Inside is a recreation of some of the Chauvet cave's most important features, reproduced to scale.
It's cost 55m euros to build, has taken eight years from inception to completion and has involved hundreds of people.
Hi-tech scans, 3D-modelling and digital images of the original cave were used to create the copy.
Layered over a huge metal scaffold, the limestone walls have been reproduced in concrete, the stalagmites and stalactites have been remade in resin.
Even the temperature has been set to match that of the original.

Re: Theories or other?
Let me try with the last, Abiogenesis.
This is another area where folk tend to misrepresent what it means.
Basically, there is very convincing evidence that there was a period when there was no life here on Earth.
There is very convincing evidence that there is currently life here on Earth.
So a reasonable conclusion is that somehow non living matter became living critters.
In a nutshell that is all Abiogenesis means. It does not say anything more than that...non-living ----> living.
So that is pretty much it.
From that the next step again is just to follow the evidence and that shows very conclusively that everything did not come into existence at once or over a short period of time.
The evidence shows that for a long long period of time there was no life on land.
Then the evidence shows plant life on land.
So Abiogenesis is the study of the evidence that is available at this earliest period where there is living stuff.
Again, the evidence shows that during that very early period only simple living stuff existed. And when all the living stuff is as simple as possible the only possible direction is towards complexity.
So the question Abiogenesis tries to answer is "What were the steps, method or processes that make a transition of non-living to living possible?"

Re: Maps
What's too funny is Faith saying there are no examples of "massive erosion" after all the discussion about the missing billion years or so that is the Great Unconformity. I might consider several miles of material and billions of years of deposition and erosion as "massive" but maybe I simply don't understand what qualifies as "massive".

Conclusion and assumption are not synonyms.
There is no geological time scale assumption. That is simply another false statement.
What there is is a conclusion of great time based on two factors, the actual evidence and the presence of an honest observer.

There may be some chronological equivalents, but there are no great ergs in almost any direction.
Could we draw a parallel between the Najavo Sandstone and today's sandhills in Nebraska as an example of geology in action. Not too long ago the Nebraska Sandhills were a living erg but now there are grasses growing which may preserve the underlying formations so they someday become sandstone?

Re: Source for Saline and Carbon Dating?
An issue you must address is that the audience has been trained to believe SOURCE over CONTENT. Things are true because ...
God said
Paul said
Pastor said
father said
Brother said
Changing that process does not happen quickly or without pain.
