For those who are interested, this is a thread for tracking progress on One World Trade Center construction. Even incomplete, it is already the tallest building in New York City. Here's a recent photograph:
That's the space shuttle in the foreground, on its way to its new home.
I originally posted this over at the 9/11: 8 10th anniversary thread, but that thread isn't ideally suited for this purpose, so I've begun this new thread. But posting over there did reveal one thing, and I can't believe I have to do this, but apparently it is necessary on this board these days to remind people that over 2600 people died on this site. Please show some respect.

Re: September Image
Not sure why you ask, but no, nowhere close. I try to keep up with construction progress for sentimental reasons because I watched the original towers go up over 40 years ago from across the river in Jersey.
But I do have a cousin who was living and working in Manhattan on 9/11.

Re: September Image
Ooh, tempting since NYC is only a few hours away, but we have plans this weekend. Raincheck?

Nova broadcast a documentary yesterday on construction of the WTC, I expect it will be rebroadcast, here's a trailer from YouTube:
