Re: Say What On Constitution?
Razd & Taz, ole chumps, come, let us reason together.
Razd, you, liberal biased citizen, Big Banger evolutionist, secularistic minded citizen of these United States, would, by law, require each and every citizen in these 50 states to be subjected to what you think in your mindsets.
No just about basic facts and SCIENTIFIC theories.
Our forebears founded this republic on Biblical principles, freedom, including the press etc. Then you & Taz say it's the rest of us who need to read and study the Constitution.
Funny i thought the bible frowned on equality and democracy and really loves their monarchy.
Mmm, perhaps it's because they've actually read what the Constitution & Bill Of Rights says.
Yea something like separation of church and state comes to mind but i guess Arizona do sent care what some silly constitution says because the bible should be thought in schools.
Intelligent? Extreme?
Well an actual fascist extreme position would be to lock up the unevolved creationists and other brainwashed people in some concetration camps.
".........we should make.."? You & Razd should have power to subject us all to what you think? To require every citizen who would be a candidate to watch this video and pass a test on it?
Would it not be fun to have a republican that can form a coherent sentence for a change?
Yes. One fell swoop law to negate the Constitution.
Well no anyone can study up on a subject and pass a silly test it would not make anyone less equal then the other, it would just force people to pull their nose away from the bible and study up on some basic fats.
No, me friends, what we need is to educate the kiddies in our schools on the Constitution, as it was, since this nation's founding , until the progressives moved in.
Yea you really should do that too because
stuff like this is embarrassing

No, to what the facts are.
For instance, it is a FACT that taxes has not gone up AT ALL since Obama took office. But you and along with your christian people believe that taxes has gone up. This simple but very important self-delusion should alone disqualify you guys to vote all together.
Voting is a very real power put in the hands of the common people. Instead of making sure you have all the facts down before you vote, you guys self-delude yourselves and twist the facts to your delusional understanding of reality.
Tell me this much. You guys believe in a fair taxing system, don't you? Why, then, do the Obamas pay less taxes than their secretaries? Why, then, do people like Mitt Romney (who made $40 milion last year) pay 14% taxes but the rest of us are paying 20-25%?
Very simple facts in life that seem to escape you guys for some reason.
You vote with facts, not with ignorance and self-delusion.

and add none of the above
And add "None of the above" to each ballot position and if "None of the above" gets the most votes, then the position sits empty for one cycle. If a position sits empty for more than two consecutive cycles it is dropped until there is a referendum in the constituency that would be served by that position that gains a majority vote asking to try to fill it again.

Anyone so limited that they can only spell a word one way is severely handicapped!

I actually quite disagree with this attitude. Knowing your qualifications shouldn't negate your candidacy. It's the intent that matters, not whether there is intent at all.
Suppose back in 1940s Hitler came out to be the dark lord of the sith and Yoda knew he was the only one qualified to fight against the dark lord. But since Yoda knew he alone could fight and win against the dark lord, does this disqualify him from fighting against the dark lord of the sith?
Your logic, while sounding good in a fortune cookie, makes no sense.

We already have something like "none of the above". Turning in an empty ballot is an option, you know. I do that from time to time.

Re: Say What On Constitution?
Our forebears founded this republic on Biblical principles, . . .
Which principles are those? From what I have read, our Founding Fathers based this Republic on Enlightenment philosophy, such as John Locke's idea of natural rights and social contracts.
If anything, our Constitution is a direct violation of one of the Ten Commandments. The Old Testament tells us that we are to worship no other gods, and have no idols. The US Constitution tells us we can do both. Religious freedom is certainly not in the Bible.
No, me friends, what we need is to educate the kiddies in our schools on the Constitution, as it was, since this nation's founding , until the progressives moved in.
I think you should take your own advice.

If anything, our Constitution is a direct violation of one of the Ten Commandments.
Not all christian principles.
Just a select few that are cherry-picked ad hoc.
And Buz's confirmation bias prevents him from seeing the anti-biblical principles that America was also founded on.
Taq writes:

Yes - that would be exactly the type of principle that Buz refuses to see.
Another would be freedom of speech being incompatible with blasphemy.

Tradition and heritage are all dead people's baggage. Stop carrying it!

Re: staying on topic
AE has this queer notion that we shouldn't worry about Constitutional violations unless they occur in the state where we live.
stubby is a troll and loves to strawman everything i type.
I live in the United States.
Me too (I live in Virginia). so please explain how a law in TN affects OUR (mine and your) rights in other states/commonwealths; I responded because you insinuated that this was affecting everyone, that this is big government, and somehow we in states outside of TN should be alarmed at how some insignificant law in TN is reducing our rights?
Give it time.
oh it is some slippery slope argument? as in "this law is not really a monkey law" but if you are paranoid enough you can "read between the lines" and just wait the next one will be, because "nothing good comes from the south". Am I following you guys?

AE also seems to think that an accurate description of his position constitutes a strawman.

A violation of any American's rights should concern every American.
I responded because you insinuated that this was affecting everyone, that this is big government, and somehow we in states outside of TN should be alarmed at how some insignificant law in TN is reducing our rights?
Every American should worry when Big Government uses legislation to try and work around Constitutional rights. That is exactly the intent of this law. Has been from the very beginning. The motivation of this law was NOT to improve the education of children, but to give teachers the ability to use creationist arguments in science class against theories that religious people find threatening.
oh it is some slippery slope argument?
Nope. Just saying that a court case can not be brought against the state until constitutional rights are actually violated. In my experience, it is only a matter of time before a science teacher uses this law to teach creationist arguments in science class.

Perhaps instead of name-calling and misusing labels, you could explain why you think I was making a strawman argument or being a troll, or tell us what lies you think I'm telling.
Probably not, but hey, I'm willing to give you an opening.
