Re: Dogma vs. Theory
You totally ignored the essence of my post.
Care to try again?

Religious belief does not constitute scientific evidence, nor does it convey scientific knowledge.

Hi Artemis Entreri,
If you're not going to contribute to the discussion maybe you could join one of the Peanut Gallery threads and make your wisecracks from the audience.

Re: we know how it did not start.
I would say both have an equal chance for discussion of theories,
Religious beliefs are not theories. Never have been.
I thought science was more concerned with observable evidence, and therefore would probably not dwell on something that there was no evidence for like the origin of life.
I guess that you are unaware that scientists are actively doing research in the field of abiogenesis? I would think that scientific research is a valid topic for science class?

Re: we know how it did not start.
And any lawyer worth his salt knows how to hide intention with words.
Rather than take on the suggestion that the best lawyers use subterfuge, I will simply point out that there are no hidden intentions in this bill. The authors fully intend to flout Supreme Court precedent, and have said so.
The bill requires that religious dogma gets trotted out whenever any scientific discussion of origins is put forth. It is impossible to avoid the conclusion that the bill mandates teaching about religion in any biology class where abiogenesis is discussed.
Unless the word "hide" simply means avoiding talking about the stinky pachyderm standing in plain sight in the dining room, I'd suggest that the agenda behind this piece of legislation is readily apparent. Artie is simply pretending not to see the elephant, despite the fact we can detect his painful attempts to avoid directing his gaze to the center of the room, where sits said smelly mammal.
