Congratulations agent_509Your story really is quite similar to mine. I used to be a very fundamentalist Christian (YEC, the works). Then, after starting to study geology, in my first year, a person, who pretended to be a "geologist", came to preach at our Church. He lied within his first sentence. And he kept on. And on. His untruths were obvious to me with just a few months of studying very basic geology. In the end, I was not even allowed to talk to this "PhD", not to mention even questioning him. He got his money and left.It was only later that I realized he had no PhD in Geology at all, but just some religious "degree" from an American degree mill. That started me off on a course of questioning everything. In the end, I realized that creationists always tell untruths. No exceptions. You can even see these untruths in this thread. They always tell untruths.I didn't really believe in any god after that, but I carried on thinking I believed, because I thought I had no other option. I believed in believe. Hi Zen DeistEvolution had nothing to do with my deconversion at all. I did not and still don't know much about biology.I do know a lot about some rocks. Creationists did not tell the truth about those same rocks. They kept on telling untruth after untruth. Even after they were shown exactly where they were telling untruths. They still kept doing it and still keep on repeating those untruths.That did it for me. That lead me to think that those creationists don't ever tell the truth about anything. I started investigating what they have to say about the other natural sciences, too. They always tell untruths about every branch of the natural sciences. They never tell the truth.
