Re: Music for the road
I might have to listen to some Scorpions, since we seem to have similar tastes in music. Only issue I have with your post is that the artist's name is spelled Gilmour. I have been a big Floyd fan since I was 13 and started listening to "Wish You Were Here". I had all of there albums on vinyl, now have them digital.
David Gilmour's new album, Rattle That Lock, comes out on Friday. I have already prepurchased it.
A good source to buy music, if you don't want to give Amazon your money is https://us.7digital.com.

I had most on vinyl and also CD.....still adding CDs. I listen primarily to MP3/WMA on my phone these days.....take 1000s of songs with you everywhere.
David Gilmour's new album, Rattle That Lock, comes out on Friday. I have already prepurchased it.
Me too. A bit expensive though.
The Scorpions album Blackout is considered their best by my friends (and daughter). I really like their newest album, Return to Forever, also. Two of their songs that I think are very good are The Zoo and Rock You Like a Hurricane.

That looks like a lot of the roads I have been on. I remember the song, but that is the 1st time I've seen the video.

For you try before you buy folks, Gilmour released a music video for "Rattle That Lock" that was distributed from his web page. It's also on youtube.

I love me some Gilmour.

Re: Music for the road
I heard an interview with Gilmour this morning on NPR, along with some sampling of the album. The guitar was sweet, and the harmonies contributed by Crosby and Nash were amazing.

Re: Music for the road
I finally got to listen to the album yesterday. I had preordered the Deluxe package a while ago, so was patiently waiting. Yesterday I received an email saying that it was on backorder. The order was placed directly through the David Gilmour website. I had a scathing reply that the reason I ordered it early was to make sure I got a copy right away. I cancelled the order and bought it and downloaded it yesterday. Record companies still suck ass. Unbelievable that they do not have enough discs to meet the preorder demand.
Lesson to myself, not need for the physical copy just buy the digital. I was looking forward to the Blu-ray extras though.

I was waiting to see if there was a less expensive package. I looked on Amazon on release day and saw just the CD and along with that I could instantly download the MP3s. I still like to have the CD as a hard copy backup in case my digital files get corrupted or I lose access to Amazon's cloud. I have copies on my laptop, desktop, phone, and several thumb drives, but you never know.
I have not paid much attention to car sound systems, but I am thinking about getting a new one installed in my truck. I guess now they have jacks so you can plug an MP3 player in directly. I use an insert that fits in my tape player. A lot of the time I use my headphone on road trips to cancel out road noise.
I finally got to listen to the album yesterday.
What did you think?
I like it a lot.
