I find that clicking on a link forty times is rather satisifying even if it doesn't really speed things up.
(And yes, I do count them - I'm a bit obsessive-compulsive.)

It should be 42, if you want the answer to the ultimate question ...
I also find that running facebook slows everything down, so I've stopped accessing that on my laptop.
Enjoy

Re: Forum seems to be running kind of slow
I find that clicking on a link forty times is rather satisifying even if it doesn't really speed things up.
Interesting note RFC 5988 introduced the notion that people who repeatedly click links clearly really want the content as quickly as possible, and so many browsers will now send a http status code 418 to the server, which alerts it to this fact and sends the first 10% of the packets down the 'fast lane'.
I assume you use Safari, as that does kick in at 40 clicks in short succession.
In Firefox it's 17, but then it presents an alert box, followed by a couple of browser pages confirming you really understand what you are going to do.
Chrome just knows what links are important to you and acts accordingly (ie., send the 418, and sell your activities to marketers).

I use Internet Explorer. (I'm not sure why that's a joke but it seems that it is.)

I hate being asked, "Are you sure you want to do what you clearly indicated you want to do?"

I can't seem to get the 'Do Nothing' button to work.

The above ontological example models the zero premise to BB theory. It does so by applying the relative uniformity assumption that the alleged zero event eventually ontologically progressed from the compressed alleged sub-microscopic chaos to bloom/expand into all of the present observable order, more than it models the Biblical record evidence for the existence of Jehovah, the maximal Biblical god designer.

That's the funny thing. It did nothing.

Well, that's not good. I don't think it's the button but OHT. You may have to re-install your browser. If left unresolved these operator headspace and timing bugs can be devastating.

So I've just reformatted my hard drive (boy that took a lot of file transfers!) and it still does nothing.
I think I'm just going to leave it alone, from now on.

Good thinking. Don' tempt fate.
Realize that we may see more of these things. Percy is apparently experimenting with some new programming architectures. This one is an example of the "Bottom, Down" technique, where you start with nothing and end up in the same place. It can be a very powerful programming tool if you can avoid OHT issues.

life's a beach
Well, I just pushed it and then went down to the beach where I ended up trying to skip stones with round rocks. They did nothing for me, so maybe it is a timing issue.
And then I noticed that the bird feeder had not had a single bird there all day.
Apparently there is a lot of nothing being done all around me, I just need to de-focus more to do less myself so I can notice more how much less is done.

You mean we could end up with a "do nothing" forum that has topics but everyone (except admin to keep a tight rein on it) is restricted from posting.
Guaranteed to drive up membership as people join to attempt to post ...
