Coyote, I think we can both agree that too much of anything always results in something bad happening.We've saeen the result of authoritarian governments imposing socialism/communism on the populace. We've seen the incompetence that results from communism.At the same time, we've also seen the results of unregulated capitalism. I would argue that unregulated capitalism has resulted just as much human rights violation as communism has.The question then becomes at which point between the two extremes do we find a happy medium. Well, that's up for debate, I guess. I'm more left-leaning compared to where you're at. At the same time, I don't think it's fair for you to accuse us that we want to take what you've earned and distribute it to people who have not earned it.Look, I cringe every time I look at the income taxes that I pay, too. I make a living just like you do. But I also believe that we need to have safety nets to catch those who have fallen from grace. Why? Because I might be the next guy that falls.There was an npr program that I Was listening to. It was one of those stories in the evening. Anyway, it was a story of this guy who was making 150k a year in some kind of sales business. That was a few years ago. Nowadays, he lives in a homeless shelter due to his risky investments. Lost his business, earnings, home, car, as well as his family. In just a course of 2 years, a relatively affluent businessman becomes a homeless wreck.This is why I advocate for us to find a happy medium. Somewhere in between unregulated capitalism and total socialism. I'm convinced we can make this land a much better place to live in for everybody.
