Wow...looks kinda like some of the pictures and film of the dust bowl years, it has got to get into everything even with windows and doors shut I would think?
Here in NC now it is 89F and humidity is 86% currently, going to T-storm soon...as usual...humidity sucks the most though.

Re: Haboob
When you see a thing like that its a good time to say to your wife pack your bags we are moving.
since we are talking about weather for today pojected 16 C rising to 25 C and a bit of summer rain. Its nice living in mild zones.
Extremes would be -39 C record a few kilometers from my home and and 40,6 C on the other side of the scale also a record.

I started turning on my AC in the first week of May. It is currently 101 degrees in central Texas. Electric companies are raking it in.

Wet, very wet in northern Minnesota
The Duluth, Minnesota area has just received all time record rainfalls. I haven't followed things in much detail, but there were areas that got 24 hour totals of pushing 10 inches yesterday. And we had considerable amounts of rain leading up to that.
I had been scheduled to do a radio show Wednesday night, but I canceled out because of "God only knows" road conditions.
The homestead, out in the country, is on high ground and suffered no damage. There is some fairly minor road washouts in the vicinity. But Duluth got hammered.

Google "Duluth rain" if you want more of the story.
Nice, non-rainy day today. I hope it stays that way for a while.

{ABE} Actually, it's not so much the pay in Mexico that is less (it is much less), it is the cost of living. For some the West Texas solution is optimal twixt pay and cost of living. It sure isn't based on scenic beauty or cultural opportunities or mild climate or decent food other than BBQ. Hidden costs. {/ABE}

Re: Wet, very wet in northern Minnesota
I was in Duluth on Wednesday. It was crazy. I drove by Chester creek and Miller Creek. It was amazing. Also stopped at Tischer creek on Wallace avenue. The creek was flowing down St MArie and undermining the banks.
On the way home it took over an hour to get through Superior.

Drive over to Roscoe! It'll get better!
Well, not exactly better - maybe flatter, though.

My furnace was on yesterday (June 21 for those of you who are too lazy to read the date on the post).

So, we have an "official state of emergency, stay home, don't drive unless absolutely necessary" event.
Theordoric visits Duluth.
It was crazy.
You meant to say "I was crazy"?

A few years ago it was snowing bad i mean really bad the highway had 10cm of crushed snow on it basically ice, and you literally could not see beyond a few meters, u could not use most of the exits on the highway because the snow there was not crushed or ploughed and about the hight of the cars cooler. And i decided to go to maribor 170 km drive cause my gf was there. Not because i had classes there the next morning it took me 5 hours to make it, and every kilometer there was an idiot who spun out.
But in my defence i had a golf 4 back then diesel, drives like a tank if you know how.
