Well, when I left it it was up to 1024, and its shape was similar to what it was at 900 and at 1002 --- a very low-slung motorcycle with the hind wheel half the size of the front wheel and a mudguard/tail over the hind wheel, and the suspension of the front wheel pointing upwards, so that it did not in fact function as suspension.
Now, about thirty generations later (and 1055) it's barely recognisable. The tail has gone, the rear wheel is three-quarters the size of the front wheel, the suspension of the front wheel points forwards, and nothing sticks out of the top, so that it can and does perform some of the journey upside down.
And I missed all the intermediate forms, dagnammit.

Exaptation
It appears that I have some 'cars' who now use what was once a useless? third wheel, now use it (as it grew a bit larger) to help them get over the humps. An example of exaptation?

I'm now at 1006,9, with great hope of going further since the hump that is stoping won't last long.
Main frame is just two sticks at an angle of about 150 degrees, with a single wheel at the back and a double wheel (single best mutation right here!) at the front.

It's interesting that you should have a three-wheeler --- Mr Jack was implying that they'd converge to two wheels.
This is a case of contingency in evolution which would doubtless delight Stephen Jay Gould.

I'm guessing two wheels can only get you so far, the double traction up front is definitely needed I think past 800
oh and I also put my max wheel to 8

Far from it. My three-wheeled species started dying out around that mark, and my two-wheeled forms are now up to 1055, which is slightly better than you've managed.

So far, at the 20th generation (with 5 wheel max) my best is the three wheel family at 842. The two front wheels are vertical to each other. The two wheel families suck

Yeah well my two front wheels significantly overlap, so it just makes a two-wheeler with much more power in front.

Baby Pictures
It's not so boring as it looks --- the indentation on the underside serves as a sort of grappling hook.
This picture shows its furthest point of progress. I don't see how it can be improved, but am prepared to be surprised.

By now, I think you guys have more experience of what this will evolve than I do

Re: Baby Pictures
I don't know how much speed it has when getting to that hill, but you should hope to see it evolve a second front wheel (maybe higher max wheel ?)
I'm starting a new one right now.

Re: I don't get it
Set the parameters you want in/for your population (such as number of wheels, wheel frequency, mutation rate and environment) and then sit back and watch. The FAQ explains the process of crossover, mutation, and how breeds are chosen to 'mate', among other things.
Currently I am on the 40th generation, of course I let the computer run over night.

Oh okay, I was all: am I just supposed to sit here and watch!?
Thanks man.

Re: Boxcar Willie
Do you do pop. size of 20 or smaller ?
I use the default: 20.
Sometimes I use 3 or 4 wheel, 50 - 60 wheel frequency, 5 -7 mutation then let 'em run for at least 15 generations. Never been over 1000.
I did make a car. Nice three-wheeler with two wheels overlapping for extra drive, long wheel base, no spikes so it can tumble and not get spiked and most of the triangle area over the single wheel to help balance the mass of the two-wheel end. Worked real well and I was hoping for an evolved champion, but nooooo! De-evolved junque.
