Really? I must find out more about this; I had always understood that the cartilage in sharks was evolved from bone.

i'm actually unsure, here.
in any case, i was merely trying to demonstrate some living animals that represent various states of bone/not-bone, not necessarily an actual lineage (which modern sharks, a crown group, would certainly not technically be a part of).
in any case, that was not what ICdesign (proponentsists) meant.
