Hacker?
Shouldn't you ban Pilsner2, I think he's one of those hackers.

Re: Firefox problems
I'd like to report that I'm still having issues with Firefox. Clicking on any of the discussion board pages, or the login page brings up a version of the login page that says my password has changed. But neither my old password or my new one gets me in: I just get booted back to the same "password has changed" page. IE works just fine though.

Re: Firefox problems
Firefox 3.5.5 on Macintosh seems to be working OK for me.

Re: Firefox problems
No problem on either a mac or windows machine using FF 3.6.8. Anyone so limited that they can only spell a word one way is severely handicapped!

Copy/Paste Problem
When I click Reply, I've been having a problem with copying from the post and pasting into the online editor. Sometimes, it pastes the selected text and then pastes the whole post after it (which defeats the purpose of selecting text ). I've tried pasting the text into Notepad and it does the same thing there, so I'm guessing that the problem (if any) is in Copy.

Use the peek mode and the problem goes away. Anyone so limited that they can only spell a word one way is severely handicapped!

Re: Copy/Paste Problem
I've noticed this too, this happens when you do a "broad sweep" copy that includes the last line of text, right? (By "broad sweep" I mean, that you click the mouse and just highlight the text until all is selected, not stopping on the last letter). Now, when you stop on the last letter, so that it is still highlighted, but don't select any more, it should just copy that line of text. Alternatively, Percy could just fix it.

Re: Firefox problems
That could be a firefox bug. Find your firefox profile directory. There should be a file there labeled "cookies.sqlite". Delete that file (make sure that firefox is not running before you delete it). The file will be recreated when you next start firefox. However, you will lose all saved cookies. I have not seen the problem myself, but I have seen reports of it. Apparently the cookies.sqlite file can occasionally become corrupted. I am currently using firefox 3.6.6 on linux (opensuse 11.3, just installed yesterday).

That would explain why the problem was intermittant. Damn my tendency to paint with a broad brush! Thanks, and thanks to jar too. I've been away for a while and I forgot how to use the software.

Re: Firefox problems
My ubuntu (linux) installation using FF 3.6.8 is also having no probs with login. I'm using the FF built in save passwords function and the EvC site autosave password save function.

Moving a topic
When I first tried to copy/move the Evolution of poisonous vs. non-poisonous snakes topic, I neglected to choose a forum to move the topic to. Thus the PNT got closed but no new version was created. Thus number two, I had to do the copy/move a second time. Maybe I previously never forgotten to select the new forum, but I don't recall this situation happening before.
