Cullinary Conundrums
So there is a new Straggler Junior, or Juniorette, on the planet? Congratulations!
Cheers. This was the second. No more.
You have now become officially selected for by Natural Selection and have fulfilled your evolutionary function.
You can die now.
Or not, if you want.
I am too exhausted to be able to have an opinion on that at the moment.
Have you eaten rat?
In practicing her culinary arts I think I've come very close, but, no, not that I'm aware. But, then again, I can not be certain.
Drunken take-away food - Just tastes soooo good.
I would not like to think I would do well in a Barnaise.
Well now there is a side topic. If you had to be eaten what would you consider to be a suitable cullinary method of consumption? What method of being cooked best exemplifies your personality? Personally I think I would like to be curried.

Re: Police animals
The second baby Straggler was born just over a couple of weeks ago now.
Well congrats to you and your wife, bro. I haven't read all the messages in this thread but, boy or girl?

I have a question, just curious. Last night I heard a story about a guy, drunk of course, that punched a police horse. He was arrested for assaulting a police officer. Also, here in the US if you kill a police animal, you get charged equally, and sentenced equally, to having killed a human police officer.
Straggler writes:
How bizzarre!
Ha! Which part? The horse beater or the sentencing?
My guess is that this is not the case but then I would never have guessed it would be the case in the US either.
Its one of those laws we have so we can point to it an show how sincere we are as a country...then, we drop bombs on brown people.

Missed this. Congrats! Two is definitely where it's at. The oldest has now figured that if we can't be arsed getting them their supper (milk and biscuit before bed), he'll get for both him and the young'un, and we can carry on watching (Lost, House, 24, Caprica, etc...) undisturbed You won't regret it...

Boy. So two boys it is.

Flogging a dead horse is one thing but punching a live one is just asking for trouble.

Black, brown, a dodgy shade of pink or even those with ginger hair - We all taste the same underneath.

That is my dream. Sounds idyllic. In fact maybe I can train the oldest to bring me milk and biscuits while I veg in front of the TV too.
You won't regret it...
Well at the moment I am up to my eyeballs in poo and puke so to hear that there is light at the end of the tunnel is rather comforting.

Re: Police animals
Hi, Straggler.
So, I didn't comment right away because I wanted to avoid draggin the discussion off-topic. Then I realized that we're in the Coffee House.
Congratulations on the baby! I hope he decides to be a conservative omphalist when he grows up, so you'll have plenty of opportunities to have aggravatingly unproductive philosophical debates, and, each time you do, you'll think of me and our good ol' days on EvC, and get a major headache.
It'll probably all lead to a pub somewhere.
That is, if it's still legal to torture and kill barley plants when your son's old enough to debate. For your sake, I hope the enlightenment is slow (and the aliens' ships are slower).

Cutting!!! Ouch!! But
Anyway in my dotage maybe I will be the conservative omphalist. Just for laughs.

Barley. There won't be any barley. The end is nigh. The aliens are coming and we are all doomed.
It'll probably all lead to a pub somewhere.
I will be invariably leading somebody somewhere to a pub.

Re: Depraved indifference
I don't know how we could have a meaningful conversation about the morality of carnivory if we began with the premise the morality is subjective.
In this thread I don't think we need consider whether morality is objective or subjective. All we need do is consider whether it is derived from any rational basis and whether or not that rational basis is being applied consistently.
